Starting Somersize this week 3/1/2012...anyone want to try (past IP gal)

  • Hey everyone. I have been part of the IP forum for the past 20 months. I was very successful with IP and lost 83 pounds. I kept it all off from May 2011 until Christmas of 2011. I have put 10 pounds on with the holidays and a cruise. Going to give Somersize a try. Anyone else in?
  • Yup. I lost 20 pounds w Somersize a couple of years ago, stopped following, stopped focusing, had some surgery, hit menopause and starting over.

I restarted this week, already, back out of the 160's!

Great I was into a size 6....but now I am wearing 8's again. I want to be back into a small 8/large 6...thinking about 10-15 pounds. wondering how long that should take.
  • I have a few questions,

    1. Do you eat the carbo meals at all?

    2. Do you eat any of the desserts at all?

    3. Do you exercise?
  • I do not eat desserts (other than some fruit). Maybe when I hit goal, but I am a sugar junkie, have to steer clear of anything that makes me crave more.

I am just getting back to it (just dug my books out last weekend!) but I do eat plain shredded wheat most mornings, I create a minor imbalance with a handful of whatever fresh berries I have.

Then I eat a huge salad at lunch with some protein (chicken, tuna or turkey usually) Then protein and veggies dinner.

Snacks are string cheese, veggies etc.

I am just trying to get back into exercise. Back to c25k, but I did exercise the last time. I am looking to be at 130 by June 1, so 10 pounds a month. I would think you could get 10-15 in 6-8 weeks, but we all lose differently, so have to see. I am much more into how my clothes fit than the number and my jeans fit much better yesterday than they did 2 weeks ago, so I am stoked!

Yes, I am all about size....looking for that loose 8/some 6's...that is my ultimate goal...since I was there recently....I am guessing 10 pounds. Well I will check in occasionally if you want to
  • That would be great.

How about you? Do you eat carbo meals, have you tried any of her desserts, or have any suggestions or other desserts that worked on IP? Do you exercise?

IP is a super strict and restrictive packet-based diet. Packet for breakfast, packet and salad for lunch with olive oil and vinegar, meat and veggie for dinner and a bar for snack....nothing else...very low calories and fat. It was great because I went from a size 18 to a size 6/8 in about 8 months and dropped 85 pounds....I maintained for 8 months quite easily with a maintenance that is similar to Suzanne Somers maintenance. Then I went up 10 pounds over the holidays.

I walk daily, I go through periods of weight training with and without a trainer. I have been trying to take up running but it bothers my knees and hip.

My plan is no fruit or carbos for the first 3 weeks on Suzanne Somers....I want to get into ketosis...which I am currently in.

I may continue to stay in ketosis with no fruit and carbs depending on the situation at the end of 3 weeks. I have an overnight at Foxwoods casino planned for the 22nd and 23rd of this month...so staying 100% will be difficult.

I usually enjoy the low-carb bars but I am going without for now.
  • In here for support!
I started somersizing today. My body is incredibly out of tune!
Last time I somersized was 12 years ago when I had to lose 20lbs at the age of 15. I kept it off until the divorce 3 years ago. I'm finally in the frame of mind to put my health first and to find back my body's balance.
Hello somersize! My boyfriend is going to love this, ladies
  • Good for you, G! Gotta put you first!
