CoEnzyme Q10--what's the recommended dose?

  • I've read up on how good it is--but I can't remember where and in what books! (I'm a heavy library user--so it's not a simple matter of looking through the books on my own shelves.)

I specifically can't remember what the dose was supposed to be. My caplets are 30mg and I've been taking 2 a day. However, the stuff is really expensive, so if I can cut back to one I'd be happy.

    Can anyone help me out?
    Thanks.
  • I think it depends on what you are taking it for. I take 200mg daily, as recommended by my cardiologist. I buy Source Naturals softgels from Amazon and use their subscribe and save option to save money this way.
  • Thank you Suzanne!
(and thank you for this site).

200mg. Hmmm. I'd better do some more research!
  • I think most people don't need that much. Dr Weil recommends 30 to 100, though he said he takes 120. You are probably good where you are unless your doctor suggests increasing it. If you are on statins for cholesterol, you might need a little more.
