I want to eat more fruit but the acidity

I need to increase my fruits. But so many fruits give me canker sores in my mouth... I've always had this problem from the acid... so I've been eating bananas, blueberries and a few others low in acid... I guess I don't know which fruits are low in acid... Has anyone experienced this ? I've had nutritionists tell me to keep eating the fruits with high acid and my body will just adjust... OUCH....

These are considered "low acid" fruits:

apricots - blueberries - huckleberries - strawberries - nectarines - raspberries - blackberries - gooseberries - mangoes - elderberries - olives - fresh figs - sweet apples - cherries- sweet peaches - sweet plums - persimmons

It is true that the more of them you eat, the more you'll get used to it. Try mixing in some higher acidity fruits with lower ones in a fruit salad or mixing them with low-fat yogurt. That will help a lot.

I mix mandarin wedges, bananas, blueberries, sliced strawberries with a 1/2 a container of low-fat vanilla yogurt and it makes a great "parfait" type fruit salad. And the dairy will help buffer the acids in the fruits in your mouth.
