Default Eating Core Food but Counting Flex points

Hi! I've seen many of you around as I branch out from the South Beach boards...

I am used to eating South Beach type foods (for those that don't know it's very similar to core food) but i was stalled due to lack of control over the amounts I was eating.

So I went back for the zillionth time to a weight watchers meeting. Tomorrow is my first weigh in.... i'm nervous but i've had a good week.

so here is my question... is anyone else eating mostly core food but counting points?

for example most of my work days are similar

breakfast
v8
egg (one)
oatmeal
fruit
milk
coffee

lunch
salad w/protein and dressing

snack
varries but usually carrots and hummus

dinner
protein veggies
maybe a grain or sweet potato

and i'm counting points... now I did indulge sunday night in chips and peanuts but i counted the points for that... and i ate white potatoes and corn (and counted the points too).... but i count the points for EVERYTHING even the core stuff.

i get 26 points per day... and it seems to be working, i'm just wondering if i'm weird....

That's not at all weird! You might be surprised how many people do this.

Before the summer (when I had a little more control over the food that was in my own home) I was focusing on trying to eat more core foods while still being on the Flex Plan. And I know there are many who've stopped in on these boards doing similar things. A Core foods focus, but still counting the points & following Flex to keep an eye on the portion sizes.

I think it's a great & healthy idea!

Yup, I agree with Faerie. I just can't condone fat free cheeses. Ew. They should be illegal. Other than that, Core foods are just healthier choices!

I try and focus on superfoods / whole foods! But still count points.
