Default work out to lose pounds!

Okay, I don't know if anyone is into this idea or not...but I am going to start a new weekly thread for flexers to post what exercise they have done, what exercise they need to, and basically any venting you want to do about exercise.

soooo TODAY, my roommate and I usually go to the gym together. But he has been a total AHOLE to me lately, so I went by myself! Big accomplishment because I am usually to shy to go to the gym all by myself...but I figure I can't rely on other people to accomplish what I need to accomplish, and I need to start being independent since my roommate is pretty much going to be an AHOLE for a while ANYWAYS...

Today:
I did 10 minutes on the treadmill (3.9 speed)
10 minutes on the bike machine
and 10 minutes on the elliptical (which just about killed me)

30 minutes total!
and how about you?

Hey, vday, good job on going to the gym by yourself!! That really is an accomplishment, especially if you had never done it before. You stepped out of your comfort zone and did something good for yourself!!

Today after my meeting I went for a walk/jog. We went just over a mile, and I jogged just over half of it!

Congrats again Vday, I'd find something like that pretty difficult also, I tend to be really insecure going to the gym alone!

Today I did a 30 min video of Hip Hop abs - and let me tell ya, I can't see anything close to abs but it's a great workout, the only bad thing about it is the sore muscles I'm gonna feel in the morning unless I do some serious stretching tonight!

I was wondering about hip hop abs - how long have you been doing it for?
Any results?

I went to the gym today, 30 minutes on the treadmill, 20 on bike machine.

It's easy because they have tvs built into the machines!

okay so I did more of the same today:
10 minutes elliptical
10 minutes bike machine
10 minutes treadmill :30 minutes total

I try to switch up the order so my body doesn't get used to the same routine. I also lift weights sometimes, but not today.

I kinda want to buy an exercise video for the days when I don't feel like going to the gym.
The striptease areobics one by carmen electra looks fun, but I don't know how useful it is. Has anyone tried it?

Today I did 30 minutes on my home bike pedal thingy.

I also finally gave up waiting for my fiance's schedule to corespond with mine.... and decided as well that I need to not rely on others to reach MY goals. I'll be joining the gym this week (because I know it's something I can stick with). ALONE.

Hopefully I can ramp up my weight loss!!

Well colorblue, I've only been doing the tape for a couple weeks, but honestly, if you like hip hop music, you can really get into it and 30 minutes feels like 10. Like I've said, you can't see anything close to abs on my body (yet!), but I get a better workout from doing the tape than almost every other type of exercise I do, although I don't go to the gym. The moves aren't that hard to do, it's just how you speed up and go with the beat, it really makes me feel good when I'm done.

You can almost say I look exactly like this --->

I'm never gonna look at that carrot again now without picturing it as me doing Hip Hop Abs. haha.

I walked twice @ work today (11 and 12 minutes) walked after work with DH (2 miles, 36 minutes) so the pedometer says 12850, if I make it over 10K, I'm happy.

I used to walk @ work with my co-worker, but she got another job and my other 2 friends are hit and miss, so I force myself to go but I only do 1 lap instead of 2, I can't wait 'til it's nice enough to walk outside, I don't feel as on display when I'm outside.

thanks for starting an exercise/activity post.

Just thought I'd share, my fiance and I reviewed our finances and realized that the gym membership wasn't very smart currently... so instead we decided to start SAVING money.

We now are walking everywhere (that's within walking distance) rather than driving. So we walk to the park, walk to the grocery store, walk to the convenience store, walk to the drug store, etc.

Over the last 3 days we've exercised 5 hours worth! Walked to the park, played football, walked back, walked to the store, walked to get an italian ice, walked to get our prescription, walked to get his darned slurpee.

Maybe $3.50 per gallon isn't so bad afterall!

Today I did:
15 minutes on the elliptical
and 15 minutes on the bike machine!
30 minutes total

and before I went to work out, I had already eaten 3 points over my daily total, so I worked out to the maximum intensity on purpose to earn 5 points! so now I have 2 left

3 10 minute walks at work and one 2+ miler with DH at home added up to 6 miles on the pedometer YAY!!

Great job Vday! I remember one time DH left the tread on 2% incline, I did my workout, but thought, why was that harder???? then I noticed! not always the most observant
