A little Biggest Loser scale victory...
Before, I didn't watch the Biggest Loser. I would watch the first episode, then get utterly depressed because all of the women on the show weighed less than me at the very beginning of the program. I thought to myself - I am so freaking fat, I'm bigger than the "fat" people on The Biggest Loser. I know its not a comparison, or it shouldn't be, but it made me REALLY upset and made me shy away from the show.
Tonight, I weighed less than all but 1 contestant. And again, I know it shouldn't be a comparison, but for me, it was really important somehow.

Mandalinn, I didn't get to watch it last night, but when I watched it a year ago, I thought the same thing. It was depressing last year, knowing that those women looked fat and I weighed 100 lbs more than some of them.

Wow, it's amazing how all of our thinking runs along the same path. I've never watched the show. If I was flipping through channels and happened across it, it always made me feel worse about myself rather than giving me inspiration. That has all changed! I still haven't watched it...didn't realize it was on last night, but I think now I could watch it, and maybe learn something!

Wow....In all the times I've watched that show, it never occurred to me to make that mental comparison. I wonder why?

I know its irrational to be comparing myself to people on TV with completely different body shapes/muscle masses/ways of carrying weight. Intellectually, its not a good measure of my weight loss. But I am SO relieved that other people felt this way and I wasn't crazy for comparing..

I find the show quite inspiring. I only hope that it will inspire countless others to lose weight. Something needs to be done about obesity, diabetes, heart disease in this country before our children and their children eat themselves to death!

I used to do the exact same thing. I am so glad that I am not the only one that watched it and thought OMG I weigh more than that person.
I love that show and it is all so inspiring!

I thought the same thing watching it the other night, that I weighed more than several of the ladies and only a couple weighed more than me and I've already lost 42 pounds!! It was a bit depressing, especially when they weighed in and lost more in one week than I have lost in any month since I started. But it's still inspiring to see the before and after pictures of the people on there, so I'll still watch it!! WTG on your success, keep it up!!

Like many of you lovely girls I'd never seen the show, but last week I was channel surfing and happened upon it. I'm a "featherwheight" so have never had as much to lose as the folks on the show, but I don't think that matters. Seeing how hard they were all working was such an inspiration. I figure that if they can work so hard then why can't I???

I see it as an added motivation for me, as well as Celebrity Fit Club that I like watching . But yes, I have had times when I first started watching that I thought, "dang, I'm fatter than everybody" and it was a bit depressing for me especially while they were losing way faster than me.

I love the show....I've been kinda off and on my diet for the last 2 months and have gained 6 pounds. But the show has helped me to gain back whatever it was I needed to kick my butt into gear again.

Oh my god I was thinking the same exact thing! I watched the season premiere and I weighed more then every single woman there. Oh well, so goes it, just more incentive.
