Default I'm finally just overweight!!!

After struggling for a few weeks with no loss, finally this morning my scale moved down to 168!!! Now my BMI is 29.8. Its been sooo long since I've weighed in the 160's. The last time I weighed this much was when I found out I was pregnant with my 7 1/2 year old. Since then I've managed to climb steadily higher each year.

Thank you, its been 3 long months now. Longest I've been able to keep this up in sooo long, but I am determined to be "normal" again. Whatever that means. LOL I am only 5' 3" so the highest "normal" weight for me is 140.5 which is about 9 pounds less than my goal weight, LOL I know from past experience that I can maintain a high normal weight but when I drop into the 110's and 120's its only a temporary thing for me.

Default Woohoo!

That is my second-next major milestone, to be in the "not morbidly obese" category.

My NEXT milestone is to weigh less than a quarter ton, or to weigh less than the average linebacker.

I'm glad you persisted!

Congratulations! LOL I will never get there because to be the weight THEY say I should be in order to not be overweight would turn me into a total stringbean! I'm just not built small and never will be... so even when I get super skinny the statistics still will call me slightly overweight... sheesh! I DO think this is partly why the statistics show such a huge percentage of Americans overweight though I'm certainly not discounting the problems of obesity. But we do NOT all need to be total stringbeans to fit the American cultural idea of acceptable weight. My BONES would not fit into the top "okay" weight they list for me LOL.

My goal is 170 and I am 5'9" -- when I was there before I started getting the "you are anorexic" comments from people, sheesh! I did stop them short by telling them what I weighed! I am NOT anorexic, never have been and don't intend to be... not even to fit into the American dream culture. Interesting though that the government (statistics) seems to WANT me there....???

Congratulations! That is something I'm looking forward to also. Phantastica it was a happy day for me to leave the "morbidly obese" category. Obese felt good at that point.

WTG, that is awesome. I remember getting to that over-weight category and was thrilled to be out of the obese category.
Misti, I know what you are saying. I have a niece that is 6'1 1/2 inches. She was 175 and is very beautiful and very slender. She tried out for a modeling school and was told she would have to lose down to a size 4. There was no way. She was a size 8 and skin and bones. A lot of times, I think these weight calculators and statistics don't take in enough factors. I am 46 yrs. old and have had 2 children and I know I will never have my high school weight or figure back.

Congrats, Tamil - isn't that such a fantastic feeling?! And I love that we can share it with people here, 'cause i know if I ran around at home or at working saying how happy I was to be officially "overweight" they'd all think I was nuts! Way to go!
