Thanks again for all the praise ladies. It means a lot. I have officially lost 50 lbs and have a mere (HA!!!) 29 left to lose. And yesterday I fit into a size 8 for the first time in 13 years.
In reference to the question of what I've been doing to lose the weight. I follow the USDA food pyramid and try to get 80% or more whole foods into my diet per day. Whole grain, fresh fruits and veggies, low fat dairy, lots of Omega 3, 6 & 9, lean meats, fish and poultry, nuts, etc.. I also work out 5 - 6 times a week and have been for the past 6 months. Cardio and strength training. I started my journey to better living on October 10, 2005. Since then, I have learned so much and still have a lot to learn, but I'm up for the challenge. I needed to find something I could do for life and make my health my primary goal in this whole thing. It's not about being thinner or looking better or even wearing a smaller size. All of that is gravy. My health is what I look out for. Do I eat sweets, fried foods and white carbs? Yep, but in strict moderation and only a few times a month, if that. The two things I have given up are soda and fast food. Not restaurant food. I still eat that, but smaller portions and healthier choices. That's what it's all about ladies.
I can answer any and all questions, please feel free. However, the first thing I did was talk to my GP about everything and he concurred with my plan and is EXTREMELY pleased with my results.
Thanks again for the boost. Believe in yourself and take care of you.
