Well, actually a little more than half... Went down from 134 to 132 this week, which means that I have only 12 lbs left to go in my goal to lose 26 lbs. There have been quite a few slow weeks with no losses this month, so I'm trying to be positive whenever I can!
This also means that, for two months, I have been able to successfully reduce my sugar intake to a more acceptable level. I did the math on my former eating habits, and in a typical day, I used to consume about 120 grams of sugar... and that's on days when I DIDN'T consider myself to have "indulged"!
Not good. With my current lifestyle change, I'm down to 20 to 30 grams of sugar in a typical day, and my food choices have been SOOO much better for me and my health. I don't think I'll ever be able to kick sugar to the curb fully, but I'm happy to have made such a drastic reduction and stuck with it. I do (quite literally) dream about eating cake every so often... but in my waking hours, I find I don't miss all the sugar as much as I thought I would. Weirdly enough, I also eat more now than I did when I wasn't on a diet... cutting out all the processed carbs and sugar means I have to eat more to meet my daily calorie needs.
It's been slow, but I'm grateful to have made it so far... I feel happy and healthy and I feel like I can do this for the long term!
