Well, today marks day five of the Ideal Protein diet for me. I surprised myself over the weekend and realized that I have incredible will power! My teenage daughters had a slumber/movie party at our house with a few of their friends. I went to the grocery store and purchased their desired "movie treats" (ice cream sundae ingredients, cookies, popcorn, etc.). I'm proud to report that I did not indulge in one crumb of the treats. Surprisingly, none of the treats looked appetizing to me :-)
Although I don't have my first official weigh-in appointment until Thursday, I have been keeping track of my weight-loss on my scales at home. So far, I've lost 10.6 pounds and have reached my first mini-goal!! My reward is to have a manicure.
I realize that during the first two weeks of following the Ideal Protein diet, I am likely to see huge weight-loss. After that, I suspect my weight-loss will even out to 2-3 pounds per week. It is also likely that I will have weeks that I don't see any weight-loss.
I'm so happy that I found this forum. I believe that sharing similar experiences with others will keep me accountable and give me the strength to keep following this weight-loss journey.
