I am so ridiculously proud of myself today, because I finally hit that mythical 10% of my total body weight lost that doctors always say helps reduce your risk of myriad health problems. I would love to get my blood sugar and cholesterol checked again now.
As you can see by my join date (2007) I've been hanging around here for a LONG time. However, you'll also notice that I don't have many posts to my name; I've always tried to do this thing by myself. Now I'm trying to reach out more, build a support network.
What I've been doing to lose weight is simple. For the first month (November) I slowly eliminated sweets and junk food from my diet in phases. Going into December, I began counting calories through MyFitnessPal and walking several times a week. Finally I drastically cut down my diet soda consumption and began drinking tons of water. Then, viola, weight loss.
I don't have any pics of me at my highest weight (366 lbs or possibly higher; I didn't weigh myself for MONTHS) but here's me at about 355 in April:
And here's me today at 329:
With my size 30 jeans that are now too big:
OBVIOUSLY, I have a long, long way to go still. Like, another 164 pounds to go - almost half my body weight. But I feel like I'm making real progress here, you know?
