Default Halfway to my goal + Onderland - short mini-goal story

I wish so badly I had taken "before" pictures because like most, I really do not have any and avoided the camera for years. I am still working on finding something though and hopefully pictures will soon follow.

I started this journey at 250 lbs. It's so weird how you wake up one day and see things for how they really are! I decided to finally do this first and foremost because of my health.

It's been a slow process but this morning I finally weighed in at 199!! I do have a long way to go but reaching the "half-way mark" to my original goal is a big deal and i'm going to celebrate (with a shopping trip, not a food binge like I used to celebrate!).

I've been on this board for years but mostly am a lurker. I have taken so much motivation and encouragement from the stories and sharing of struggles of all the people in this community though. I want to give a little back.

I've done it through calorie counting and replacing my food addition with an addiction to exercise. As the weight comes off I love the feeling of the muscles I have developed through strength training. I have a YMCA membership so I've been able to include my children in the fitness activities as well - which is good since I'm there 6-8 hours per week! For me, working out is KEY to feeling better, raising my motivation, and keeping me from wanting to make unhealthy food choices.

Thank you to all on this board who have shared - I love you ladies (and men!) and am grateful that I can turn to your posts when I have needed a little kick.

Happy Saturday!!!

You are on the mission from 2008!!! You are going to win. By this time you must have acquired all good habits. The best thing is you are teaching your kids good habits too by setting example and taking them to gym.You are a great mom.Kudos to you.
