NSVs - one health, one vanity

  • I spent the weekend with an old friend. The city we visited had a cute, walkable downtown, and it felt great to know that I could walk and walk and walk and not get tired or out of breath. At one point my friend complained about all the hills we were doing, and I looked around, confused - it was hilly? I hadn't noticed.

Then, as I was coming back, I stopped at an outlet mall to do some (necessary) shopping. I found some great khaki shorts at Eddie Bauer, but the 4s were too big (I'm sure there's some vanity sizing going on, but it's still SO COOL to be buying shorts in tiny sizes!). I asked the clerk in the dressing room if there were any 2s, and she came back and told me that they didn't have any more size 2s in khaki, just some other colors.

A couple of minutes later she came back with the shorts in 2, and told me she found size 2s on the mannequin! She stripped a mannequin for me, and the shorts fit!

Who am I, and when did this become my life? Having just entered maintenance, these were some nice reminders that this lifelong journey is worth it, for many reasons.
  • Hooray for your wonderful victories! I would like to one day have the same ... one day at a time
