Shopping NSV!

  • Hello! I weighed in at WW on Saturday morning, and my total weight loss was 34.8 pounds. I was hoping for 35 but I'll take what I can get, there's always next week. As I've been losing I've had a lot of questions regarding why the **** my clothes from a year ago still fit me. I mean, 35 pounds is not minor, shouldn't my clothes just be falling off me by now? (I do believe I was in a certain amount of denial and wore stretchy pants, didn't let my clothes get shrunk in the dryer, you know the drill).

So even though my clothes are not quite falling off me, they are getting baggy and I had a couple of Gap giftcards, so I headed to a Gap outlet. I spent maybe 90 minutes there. I tried on so many clothes, because they fit! One of my favorites was a shirt dress. I ended up not buying it because it was a little shorter than I liked, but otherwise I thought it was so cute! (Maybe I'll go back and get it later). I got a pair of capris (size 18-but a regular 18) and some shirts.

Then I went to Lane Bryant to check out the sales and didn't see anything that interested me. As I walked out I realized that I hope I was walking out for good. I like Lane Bryant, but I resent that being one of the only places I could shop.

Then I went to Kohl's. I headed for the big girl part, as I usually do, and grabbed some clothes to try on. Then when I saw all the cute stuff on sale I thought what the heck, I'll just try on some regular XLs-not 1X. What a difference! Things fit! Not everything, but yes, a year ago there's no way I could get any XL to fit. I was even getting 2X stuff last year. Not XXL, but 2X.

So it FINALLY occurred to me--I AM losing weight and it's noticeable. I haven't felt so fricking giddy checking myself out in SUCH a long time. I wanted to run up to strangers in Kohl's and cry "It fits!" But fortunately, I restrained myself.
  • That IS NSV!!!! Congrats, I bet it felt amazing!
  • Yay!! Gotta love shopping after losing weight!
  • Yes, it was great! And my total out of pocket at the Gap was less than $5, so double win! I'm still not at my goal so I don't want to spend much on clothes right now but that little shopping spree was just what I needed.
