I haven't posted in awhile, but have some good news to report. I am able to fit into my old 2XL shirts and jackets.
The timing was perfect since I had outgrown most of my winter clothing, but now I don't have to worry about buying any new winter clothes. Here is a list of my most recent accomplishments so far.
09/21/09 - 3rd weigh-in, 260 lbs.
09/28/09 - 4th weigh-in, 255 lbs.
09/30/09 - Blood/urine test results. A1c 6.4, cholesterol normal except for HDL, no more liver enzymes in blood, TSH is high (new development).
10/06/09 - 5th weigh-in, 250 lbs. Dietitian decided to remove all soy based protein packets from my diet.
As a result, I get to start incorporating real food into my diet to compensate.
10/07/09 - Doctor reviewed my blood work and does not think I need any meds for my thyroid. Elevated TSH levels are most likely due to the amount of soy based products I was eating. Eating normal food should help. Another round of blood tests are scheduled in 5 weeks. Increased my Omega-3 fish oil supplements to help get my HDL in check.
10/08/09 - 1st session with personal trainer went really well. Daily workouts are a minimum of 1 hour (circuit training) followed by stretching.
Overall, things are looking pretty good. I'm really happy with my A1c results. I'm hoping to get into the normal range, if possible. High hopes for a diabetic, but what the h3ll. I can dream, can't I?
