Default Liver enzymes

So, I have lupus and my doctor runs extensive blood tests on me every 6 months. I started MRC less than a month ago, but they called today on my bloodwork last week and said that my liver enzymes were elevated in both tests. Could it be this diet? I haven't been downing alcohol or tylenol and I'm really hoping it isn't my lupus.

I had the same thing...it went away on it's own...after a hefty dr bill and ultra sound. The dr said he felt that all the fat I was losing was not passing through my liver fast enough. I drank tons of water and on the third bloodwork test I was back to normal.

It's a common thing that happens to many people (many don't know because they don't have blood work done). Because the plan is low-carb, low-cal, low-fat, and they encourage ketosis, it is going to raise the values of your liver function testing. It's generally not a problem, but worth keeping track of. Once you lose the weight and enter stabilization and maintenance, things should even out.
