Default Favorite Quotes

I learned in my Connection class last time I signed up about Affirmations. My favorite quote right now is this one:

"Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

-George S. Patton, U.S. Army General, 1912 Olympian

Here's a great one:

"Every trial endured and weathered in the right spirit makes a soul nobler and stronger than it was before."

"I've made up my mind, no need to think it over..."
Chasing Pavements by Adele. It remind me that I've decided already and I don't need to contemplate that cookie b/c I've already decided what is important to me. It helps!

I really like to focus on the reasons why I'm trying to lose weight - motivational quotes help me! Here are some of my favorites - hope they spark some motivation with you too!

The classics:
"nothing tastes as good as being thin feels"
"Eat to live, not live to eat”
“Calories in minus calories out = my weight” (and limiting carbs!)

My personal one:
“I am in total control of what and how much I put in my mouth”

others:
Julius Erving: If you don't do what's best for your body, you're the one who comes up on the short end.
Unknown: Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I give myself reasons why I can.
Horace: Rule your mind or it will rule you.
Sorus: Nobody Knows What They Can Do Until They Try
Anonymous: If You Do What You Have Always Done You'll Always Get What You Always Got
Stephen Covey: “I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions.”

Great quotes! My additions aren't quotes, but I have a couple of things I say to myself all the time:

Often when I'm fixing my vegetables and I haven't made it to the grocery store so I'm having broccoli again, I'll tell myself: Now, now, you never once got tired of eating ice cream or double cheeseburgers from McDonald's. If you could eat junk food every day without getting tired of it, then you can eat healthy food every day without getting tired of it either.

And I have a four year old who's been watching me be so careful with my diet these past months and she asks me all the time "Can you have that on your diet?". I always reply: "Yes I can. I can have whatever I want. I'm making a healthy choice."

That reminds me that I'm in control. It's not "I can't" - It's "I won't". It's my choice.

Those are all great quotes!!

You get whatever you settle for.

Your past does not equal, nor does it dictate, your future.

One definition of insanity is: Doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result.

It comes down to a simple question: what do you want out of life, and what are you willing to do to get it?

Success is not a race, be patient.
Success leads to success.
Success is always a work in progress.
Success doesn't come to you--you go to it.
Success is a journey, not a destination. Focus on the process.
Some people dream about success...while others wake up and work hard at it.
Success is achieved and maintained by those who try and keep trying.
Everyday is a good day to SUCCEED!
If at first you don't succeed-try, try again

I love the new quotes! It truly does come down to feeling like you are in control and then acting like it!

Nothing worth achieving comes easy!
