I hadn't heard of the juice diet until a few days ago (there's a thread on the 20-somethings forum). After reading more about it, I don't think it's crazy, unhealthy, or unreasonable. I don't buy the "detox" thing-- what are you detoxing from? I think it has more to do wtih what you stop putting in (processed carbs, sugar, fats, hydrogenated oils, chemicals, etc.) than the juice itself. The juice has no power to clean you out (except maybe your colon, lol), but anyone will feel better if they stop eating a bunch of junk.
If you really want to, I think you'd be fine with doing your three day thing right now. It will most likely help you lose even more weight than you would on MRC (during the fast, that is), so I think if you want to, go ahead and do it. MRC is a pretty healthy and clean diet-- no processed foods, sugar, etc., so the juice fast wouldn't really have much to "detox" you from. If you don't eat the bars (which are processed, of course), you are pretty much "detoxed" as it is. Preconditioning is a type of detoxification, really. It gets you off caffeine and sugar and tons of carbs. That's why we have withdrawal symptoms when we do preconditioning.
Anyway-- my thoughts are that the juice fad is pretty healthy. It has whole veggies, etc. in it, not just fruit juice. I don't think it woudl be healthy for an extended period of time, but three days can't really hurt you, and it should boost your WL. If the thought of pureed spinach didn't turn my stomach, I might give it a try myself.
