New to MRC
Hello! I started preconditioning on 4/30/11. I have lost 15 pounds as of yesterday's WI and need to lose 19 more to meet my goal. I really like the program, and feel better with more energy than I've had in a long time! I've been reading all of the posts and recipes here for a couple of weeks. I'm so glad to have found this forum because I think it's important to be in touch with those experiencing the same ups and downs. I've done many diets in the past, including LA Weightloss, which was the most similar to MRC. My downfall is maintenance! I am determined to stick with it this time, even after I get to my goal, and complete the maintenance phase. I turned 40 this year and want this to be the LAST time I do this!
Thanks to all of you who provide so much support to us newbies!

Hello there!!
I also want to thank all of you for welcoming us newbies and for being such an inspiration!! You all amaze me! I am inspired!
For those of you who have recently faced tornadoes / floods - I am so sorry! I live in Florida and have been on the outskirts of a few hurricanes - but I can't imagine what you all are going through. I do hope you all stay safe and find a sense of normalcy soon.
If you don't remember me...well, I'm the cheater. I joined the board a few days ago. I started MRC about 4 weeks ago. I really decided to go all or nothing over the weekend and have been pretty much OP since. I did find myself stealing a few cheetos from my son today - without even thinking!! Once I realized that I had cheated I tried to drink like a gallon of water as penance (we'll see).
2 things made me happy today:
1- I tried the cappicino drink cold, in the blender, with ice...can you say FRAPPELICIOUS!!!!!
2 - I already made my breakfast for tomorrow (vanilla creamy w/ cottage cheese, a dash of cocoa, splenda - OMG!!) And to think I once HATED cottage cheese!!!
(is it sad that I am this excited about tomorrow's breakfast? )
Also - today was our last day of school and one of my students brought me an amazing basket of chocolates - I wanted one so bad!! I even tried to figure out if it was possible to eliminate any OP foods from my meals today just so I could enjoy one measly chocolate (I mean I was doing MATH for this)...finally I said to myself "if you do what you've always done - you'll be what you've always been." And I gave the basket away!!
I am NOT looking forward to weighing in on Thursday (you know...because of all that cheating) but I will go and face the truth. UGH!
Tomorrow and Thursday are both luncheon days at work - so I'll be packing and trying to blend in while everyone else eats the catered meal (they usually have Gooey Butter Cake - so PRAY for me!!).
Good luck to ALL and congrats to those who have already lost this week!!!

Hi, everyone,
I think that I need to reintroduce myself. I have been on MRC since last January. I've met my goal weight but have gained back about 10 lbs. or so. Bummer! But, I"m working on losing the weight again.
Soooo, cappicino in the blender? Wow! This sounds like a treat! So, you just add some ice/water and that's it? What have I been missing?!

Ancalla-
I am also a teacher and joined MRC the Friday before Teacher Appreciation Week! In our building, that means several luncheons and treats all week long! The week after that was Principal's Appreciation-another luncheon; then, the next week, they had "build your own sundae" in the lounge! I told myself two things which helped me get through those weeks without touching any of the goodies:
1) If I indulge, that will be that many more pounds to lose
2)If I can make it through these temptations without cheating, surely I can make it through anything that comes my way on this journey!
Good luck!

Hump Day
Happy Hump Day everyone!!
I see we have a lot of newbies!! Welcome!! Don't be so critical of yourselves and trust in the program and YOUR WILL to want change in your life!!!! It's a ton of hard work for the rest of your life, BUT YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!
I'm getting excited as the weekend approaches - I'm heading down to Texas to get my teenager and bring her home for the summer!! YAY! I also got a great volleyball workout on Monday - sweated my butt off in 100 degree weather! One thing I love about summer, I can't drink enough water!
Super excited to work out tonight - doing some kickball!! And then tomorrow I weigh in before I head to Texas!
Just your daily reminder to please take care of your bodies, as your are able, some aren't as fortunate!!!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!!

Goneforgood..
I am on maintenance, and I believe a few others are also, so when you get there, there is plenty of support..
Welcome to all the newbies.. Good luck on your challenges.
My center has become so huge, they are open 6 days a week, and we are a satellite center, the main center is in another town.
Little Edie.. Great weight loss..
Want to extend my congrats to all the people that lost, and there are many.

It's been a very interesting few days, but I had to share this story from last night. My kitchen was totally bare, so I had to go get groceries. This wasn't a want to go, this was a need to go. Hubby was working late, so I had to take my 19 month old daughter with me. Midway through getting groceries, hubby calls. He locked himself out of the house. So, then it became an issue of speed shopping and controlling a toddler who wanted to through everything out of the cart. By the time I got to the checkout, I was tired and hungry. I worked late too, so I hadn't had dinner yet. I was seriously contemplating a candy bar. I was having this little arguement with myself. You know how that goes. vs.
Well, the angel won. I said, No! I wasn't going to do it. No candy bar for me. Not 60 seconds later, who should tap me on the shoulder and get behind me in line? My MRC counselor!!!!!! Thank the good Lord I didn't get that candy bar! I would not have wanted to explain that one!

Question for those on maintenance..
1. How many HNS do you have a day. I was told to have 2. Do you intend to continue with these during maintenance.
2. Are you going to continue taking MRC-6 & Cortitrim 3 x a day?
3. Are you still taking Fat & Carb blocker ?
Thanks
Patzi

Patzi--congratulations on making maintenance! I'm still on maintenance but I find that keeping the weight off is an ongoing battle. Thus, I still read these posts to keep me honest.
As far as your questions go--
1) I usually take 2 HNS's a day. I tried to wean myself off of them but I find they do help me.
2) I'm really trying not to take any supplements. I take Corti-trim and the enhancer. To tell you the truth, I probably should stop taking them but I'm using them as a crutch or motivation or something.
I'm technically on maintenace but I've gained back 10 lbs which mean I still lost over 40 or so. I'm fighting the weight gain by going on the green menu and I think that it's helping.
What started the weight back on? I think that it was a combination of being tired of writing every little thing down, and being lax about sticking to the program. Anyhow, I'm back and I'm good. So much of this weight loss has to start in your mind. If you get your mind on track, then that's more than half the battle.
Good luck to you! I go back to the center at least once a month and they are very supportive.

Oh, and I seldom take the fat and carb blocker.
Hope that this info is useful.

Jen,
That story creeps me out a little, lol!
It's as though MRC is stalking you!
But *whew* you made the right choice.
Today was a day I didn't exercise because my kids had friends over and they kept me up until 3am. So I tried to sleep in late this morning but couldn't because the yorkies and Siamese were ready to play and chasing each other all around the house.
The days I don't exercise I feel all doughy. Although the first time I did MRC i lost 47 pounds without exercising one bit. It's interesting that I'm losing at the same rate this time around.

I weighed in at home this morning, I only go to center 1 time a week becuase I live so far away. So I weigh myself mid week. I also weigh myself the morning before I go to te center, so I have my own tally and they have theirs. Well from Sat to Today, I am only down 0.4! I have been 100% OP, have walked 2 miles this week. doing 3 HNS. feel discouraged in a way. I want to lose the 3-5 a week, and I am not doing this. Any suggestions? I will talk to my counselor on Sat, but she keeps telling me my weekly average is 4.5, but it isnt.I have been on the progam THREE weeks, not TWO......well now 3 1/2 and I havent hit 10 lbs lost yet.

Jen...Great willpower. Be proud of that.
Chasing skinny... There were times I only lost 1/2 pound per week... It will come off eventually, even if it is a little at a time.. I did not take off the weight as the center said I would.. I had to rejoin to make my goal, as I did not make it in due time..But at least you lost.. So that is something. Most of my friends on MRC have lost betwen 1/2 -2 pounds per week.
Thinknthing.. If I went to center once a month on maintenance, I would have a problem. I still go twice a week.. My friend is two years on maintenance and goes twice a week also.I need that to keep me straight and from gaining weight back, for now, anyhow.. I need to account to someone and get weighed in. This is a weakness, I know, but it is working.. Maybe if you went more to the center, you would be able to stay on maintenance. I still journal everything and watch what I eat.

Patzi--the center is a two hour round trip. It moved from its first location so it's not as easy to get to. Plus, I travel alot.
What I do instead is to weigh daily. I know that doesn't work for everyone but I can see the weight come on and off on a daily basis. It works for me.
I am starting to journal everyday. That worked with Weight Watchers and it works here.
Good luck keeping the weight off. It's such a challenge.

Wow - welcome to all the newbies, it's great to meet you!
Congrats to all you losers! I spent the first half of my life dreading being called a "loser" and now I gladly wear the term "loser" like a badge of honor.
WI today and was down 2 lbs - Yeah!!! Life is so busy right now and I am so stressed and going on little sleep, I just did not know what to expect so I was thrilled with the loss! I had a great talk with my counselor and feel a bit less stressed.
Hoping you all have a great OP day!
Mariah
