Another ? -- possibly TMI

  • I'm sorry if this is too much information for some, but I was wondering...and don't feel comfortable asking my center--

    Has anyone had loose stools/diarrhea from this diet? I'm about 30 days in and just started having this (a few times a day) in the last week or so. Am I not getting enough of something, or too much of something?

    The combination of protein/fiber (from fruits/veggies) usually seems to balance everything for me, but not so much lately.

    I hate to go off-plan, but yogurt has always done the trick for me with this in the past...

    Your body is most likely releasing all the build-up from your intestines. All the junk food we all have been eating for years has clogged our insides. Now that we are eating healthy, the body is trying to adjust. If I were in your shoes, I would be so happy. This will acctually help you lose weight faster.

    What I have noticed about myself is that if I eat tomatoes for my veggies, which I did a couple of weeks back- I suffer from severe constipation. This week, I have been eating fresh red leaf lettuce, green onions and cucumbers for my salad and I have not experienced any problems.

    Do not worry and do not go off the plan, I would rather be releasing all the junk from my body, than be constipated.
  • Yep, I've been having this problem too but I've linked mine to the HNS's and mainly if I just drink them straight from the package (not mixing with water). Umm, don't ask me how I've linked it...has something to do with color..lol.
  • Yes, as I recall, I most certainly did encounter this at the front end of my effort. I would go out for my long evening walk and OH NO, THE CORN FIELD IS PICKED -- WHERE CAN I GO??? But anyway, eventually things worked themselves out cause it didn't last.
  • i had the opposite problem. when i was 100% following the mrc diet i would only have a bm every 3-5 days. it was very uncomfortable when i did too. then if i would eat something greasy and off program i would have bad diarrhea.
  • I've been constipated since I started. Have to take a laxitive once a week or I wouldn't go at all.

    CONSTIPATED: Google NATURAL CALM -- magnesium supplement -- it will take care of this and leave you relaxed to get a good night of sleep.

    And the fiber drink from MRC is helpful too! It is so good mixed with the grapefruit hns.
  • For constipation, I bought some benefiber drink packets (like crystal light little packet/sticks)...they are 28 packets for $10...and I mix them in every other HNS. It is cheaper than the Fiber drinks at MRC, adds no flavor (so you can add it to your HNS without changing it to fruit punch tasting) and works really well for me.
