Default Hard Cheese

What do you all eat for hard cheese? I can see myself getting bored real fast eating the same thing all the time.

I get the mozz cheese sticks but now I REALLY like the parm chips. So easy to make and this will be something I can see eating for a long time. I also use Romano cheese for cooking.

Asiago, parmesan, gouda, and parmesano reggiano are my faves. Yum!!

If you get really good quality (but expensive ) cheese, you don't need to use much to get a lot of flavor. An 8oz. wedge of parmesano reggiano can be about $15, but it's strong and has killer flavor! If you finely grate 4oz. of it, you can get over a cup, so one wedge can be used for about 4 dishes if you're using it to flavor a casserole or something.

mainly cheddar, colby and swiss. one thing i didn't know before was that you shouldn't use the pre-grated cheese - apparently they put fillers in it which adds carbs. i did not know that!

Yea, grated cheese has like a powder like substance so it doesn't stick together (think about what happens when you grate a block of cheese at home, it gets all stuck) I am sure it is some sort of flour product. I never thought about it before as carbs, but it makes sense.

I spray the pan with pam and even out 1 oz of parm cheese and let it melt together then flip it and let it crisp. Then tear it in chip like sizes and enjoy I usually make 3-4 servings at one time and then put in ziplock bags and use for my snack for those 3-4 days.

I have been using either Deli shredded or grated parm cheese.

Yummy yummy.............I love cheese. My favorites are the smoked gouda, smoked swiss, smoked mozzerella, pepperjack. My center advised me to stay away from sharp cheeses so I also go for mild cheeddar. Our Winn Dixie has an awesome cheese selection, some are a bit pricey but ohhhhh it's worth it.
