  • I have been getting dizzy a lot lately...and sometime nauseated....I almost pass out, things start to go black and I have to lean on something or be still until it passes....anyone else experiencing this?
  • I have experienced some light-headedness, but have no clue why. If I were you, I'd call your center ASAP first and then maybe your MD.
  • Ive talked to them about it, they thought maybe because I was dehydrated. I drink 92 ounces min a day... ???
  • I know that's not my problem. I drink between 120-150 oz. a day. But I've never almost blacked out. I'd call your MD at least and ask. Do they have a nurse you could ask or a nurse's line you could call?
  • This always happens to me when I'm on my period. Are you menstruating?
  • I am not using MRC currently but have had this happen recently--just after my workouts. I am getting too hot and have come close to heat stroke. Just an FYI.

  • a friend of mine that is also on program has experienced the same thing. As soon as she eats something she is fine. The dr she works for thought her blood sugar was bottoming out....i ate my bfast and had a HNS...maybe I will start to feel better?
  • What day of the program are you on? For the first 4 days on program, I was SO dizzy all the time. They said it's a combination of drinking so much water and lowering my sodium intake. I guess sodium actually helps to keep important electrolytes on our bodies so when we reduce our sodium intake drastically AND drink a ton of water, we are flushing out any electrolytes. They suggest I drink salt water (with morton salt LIGHT...half the sodium as regular salt) to help with my electrolytes. I didn't take their advice because I just wanted to push through to day 5 or 6 to see how I felt then. The dizziness went away for the most part by day 5 but I felt dizzy when working out for the following 2-3 weeks. They then suggested I add an HNS 15 minutes BEFORE my workout. And that helped A LOT. No more dizziness while working out.

    But I felt the exact same way...dizzy, nauseated and almost blacking out. Especially when getting up after sitting or laying down.
  • I experience this a lot now that I've lost 60+ lbs: the "everything goes black and have to stand still until it passes". Your blood sugar is low...that's all, it isn't a bad thing unless you actually do start passing out. It just means you are getting up from sitting or laying down too quickly. Make sure you put both feet flat on the floor for a moment before you stand up.

  • Is there something I can do, on plan...that will help that? Maybe I will try drinking another HNS

  • If you are going black and about to pass out, you need to be evaluated. If your sugar is that low, it's not some casual thing. Also, arrhythmias are an important cause of fainting. It can also be "benign" things. But you have to be evaluated.
  • CHECK YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE!



    Trust me on this--the first two things you should check are your blood sugar and blood pressure.

    If you find it IS your blood pressure, drink water and consume some caffeine and salt. If it's your blood sugar, the HNS should help.

    RedPorcupine, this is not a normal part of menses. Get thee to a doctor also.

    silverbelle, you need your electrolyte levels checked.
