Hvnlymzic,
I am so glad to hear from you!! I have thought of you often and wondered how you were doing! I am glad to hear mom and baby are doing well! Keep us up to date on your progress! My neice is due any day-- I am so excited to find out what she is having- she chose not to find out, too! I could never wait, I found out with all three of them. I used that as a surprise in the middle of my pregnancies- I cannot imagine waiting- but to each their own!
Aren't those little kicks the best! So reassuring that all is well! I am so happy for you.

The fiber drinks really only have 5 grams of fiber and are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay expensive. I buy the huge container of sugar-free metamucil (or walmart's sugar free brand -- it's much cheaper) and us that. I drink several drinks of that per day. It compares to the fiber drinks at a fraction of the cost. I wish I could come up with something more effective. I have eaten All-Bran (not on plan) and it helps some.
I've upped my water to 128 oz per day and that didn't help, I try to make higher fiber choices with my one fruit and the veggies, but to no avail.
I'd love to hear other people's suggestions also.

I'm not a doctor, and I'm not prescribing, but I'll tell you what works for me - magnesium supplements, or Swanson Vitamins also has one called "Colon Tone". Magnesium citrate is what this other bottle of vitamins says, it is made by Solgar and I got it at Vitamin Cottage. (Milk of Magnesia works also).
If I get constipated I seem to use it as an excuse to go off the diet and eat things like prunes, so now I stay with Magnesium related things and keep things "moving".
I take whichever I'm going to take, at night right before bed, and then in the morning all is well...
Hope that helps.

I went for a class (Healthy Habits), but they never had the class. They got behind and no one else showed up so they said they'll have again next month or I can do one on one with the manager. So I sat there for a while for nothing. Oh, well.
I just wanted to check in and say that I am totally OP again today.
Dinner yesterday was turkey, broccoli and I think I forgot my bread (I just realized that, oops). I had a creamy chocolate pudding/shake thing after that (I made my chocolate pudding into a drink).
Breakfast today..ALL my pills, an HNS and oatmeal, 1oz cheese & 1 med egg and water.
Okay..How is everyone else doing today? I've got a terrible headache and there are donuts in my breakroom (thanks dh for bringing those in for the guys! UGH!). I haven't had one and I'm able to resist b/c I'm full from my breakfast and water .
Have a great LOSER day everyone!

Rocki, I just wanted to say, good for you staying OP!

I'm back OP and its been tough to get back to it. I ate my stress for most of last week and gained 3.5 when I went it for wi on Saturday morning. I'm just relieved it wasn't more....

I do plan for this to be a lifestyle change BUT...I want the results that I am paying for. I don't want to have to spend more money by resigning because I didn't lose 3 lbs/wk (when I stayed OP). I am also taking ALL of the reccomended pills that they sell. I think I have spent atleast $1000 in this first month!
I told you guys, yesterday I was light and bright, today I am down and more down

Hang in there, sometimes your body just needs to take a breath and then you get a "whoosh" the next wi... also about supplements, there are cheaper ways to get some of those without breaking your contract. I recommend Swanson Vitamins, which is an online company, but plenty of other folks have found cheaper version at Walmart and other places.

I really want to hear more about this, please let us know if it makes a difference!! thanks.

|
When I went into MRC the first time I had just switched to wearing more of a 26/28 - these days I'm about a 24, although there are some 22s that fit me.
I think it does depend on where you lose from, I lost from my bottom and hardly any inches on my top. It was weird...

And I agree, I never had problems with my periods....it's happened since I started losing weight. Which I know will get better, it jist sucks right now. Donuts, don't you love it when we talk about this stuff?!!??!

Also, I met with the center manager and she was great. I wrote down all of my adjustments and so I was hesitant to give her my food journal, but I did and she asked why I was playing with it. I explained and told her that I have been hungry for way to long to leave it alone. She was so helpful and gave me some suggestions to make changes that would help too. I felt so great leaving there today, I was grinning from ear to ear!
Oh....I nearly forgot....I am .5# from signing the 50# board!

Congrats to you. You have been working so hard to make that scale move! I am very happy for you. Did you get any suggestions worth sharing?

I would love to go to stabilization with you!
I'm not sure if I would get fish oil. They said that it is better for men and you will burp up that yucky taste and have bad breathe. You can buy flax seed oil capsules at Vitamin cottage or at Walmart (cheaper at Walmart)
If you need some hoodia to get you by until stabilization - let me know and I can give you some. I quit taking it but have a half bottle left!
|
Hum...Do you think the peach mango would be good on Salmon? My family loves a marinade that I make (teryakki sauce and orange marmalade mixed together and topped with almonds) but it is not OP. I am looking for an alternative.

I'm actually doing this program for the 2nd time. I did it the first time in 2003-2004 and got to my goal weight at the time of 168, but didn't go through with maintenance. Later in 2004, I attempted to quit smoking and gained 40 lbs in the first few months. Subsequent quits over the next few years resulted in getting my weight up to 251.
I've managed to finally quit the cigarettes this year and now that I feel comfortable with my quit, I'm focusing on my weight. I lost some on my own and WI at 238.8 on Monday when I resigned. I went to my nutrition class last night and lost to 235.6 on the pre-conditioning diet. Day 1 has gone well so far and it's exciting to be back on program. Especially when I know that this program really works if you dedicate yourself to doing it correctly. I'm determined to go through maintenance this time (they actually gave me my maintenance time from the first time because I never used it which was really nice). I'm so excited about getting the weight off and being healthy again.
I am really excited about finding this board. It's so much easier to have a group to support you along the way. I'm going to go back and read through some old posts to see what recipes I can get from you guys.

 You found a great place!

I have done some tweaking that I wouldn't recommend to anyone that isn't really pushing the exercise, but here are some helpers.
If you are going to do an intense workout....say expend over 500 cals in the morning, have breakfast first and have chicken, turkey or fish instead of eggs and cheese because this protein stays with you longer. Remember to have your starch with it. Then after your workout make sure that you have an HNS for recovery.
Make sure that you are adding in lots of water. Use the 8oz per 15 min of exercise rule.
For the rest of the day make sure that you eat all raw veggies instead of cooked so that you get more carbs for energy and to stay full.
Add a fiber drink or two the day of your workout to keep full too.
This is my least fav because it didn't really help but if you are hungry - you can have egg whites at any time to help keep you full. make them into merengue cookies for something different.
Only have really intense cardio workouts 2 times a week! Make the others less intense.
Even on intense workout days I still have energy at night to walk with DH.
NEVER do a Resistance or Weight Training session right after your intense cardio. Wait until later in the day or you will get light headed. There is just not enough cals to support this!

I would try it.
have you tried the orange HNS and lemon slices in a aluminum foil packet and then grill or bake in the oven? That is pretty good. You may like that.
