Thanks everyone for their thoughts and suggestions. Moving with him is not an option...My kids are here and I have a really good job, too. He has been looking for a job since November and has had zero luck. I wish him well, and would never stand in his way...it just stinks. He's been out there for a little over two weeks and will be back on Monday. We'll see what happens when he gets back, but I think he'll be either trying to sell or rent his house unless something miraculous happens.
Gigi...I have to agree with you, things happen for a reason. I am a firm believer in that. He came into my life at exactly the right time. Had it not been for him, I'm not sure how I would have ever made it through my very ugly divorce. He made me see that there are good men out there and has done so many wonderful things for me just because. I will miss him terribly, but I only wish him the best and will be forever grateful that he came into my life.
OK...before I completely break down and cry....
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Woo-hoo. I had some success on the scale finally. I haven't felt hungry in 2 days as I am making adjustments and I am down 4#s since Wednesday night!!!! They offered to do the body comp again, but TOM is still here so I said NO. I wanted to leave on cloud 9, not 5! LOL
Also, I met with the center manager and she was great. I wrote down all of my adjustments and so I was hesitant to give her my food journal, but I did and she asked why I was playing with it. I explained and told her that I have been hungry for way to long to leave it alone. She was so helpful and gave me some suggestions to make changes that would help too. I felt so great leaving there today, I was grinning from ear to ear!
Oh....I nearly forgot....I am .5# from signing the 50# board!

After being some where for such a long time, it can be pretty scarry! Change can be a wonderful thing! I am happy that you got some closeure and it sounds like you are ready! Good luck Mon.! You will do just fine!
Now you have had a week off, time to jump back on the band wagon! May have been what you needed to actually make you realize that your body has changed. Sorry to hear that you are having heartburn and feeling bad though! You can do this! Stay focused on your goals. We are all going through a life changing journey and we are in the driver seat! Gotta take control of what direction we GO!

How exciting! You can do this! When ever prep time was allotted and I messed something up, I have been told over the years about the 6 P's "PPPPPP"!! (Prior Planning Precludes Piss Poor Performance) Plan Plan Plan The cooler sounds like a wonderful idea! Pack lots of healthy munchies! Hey maybe for a treat, make some of that lemon chiffon dip for your veggies and or some fruit! Take you a couple of Diet Rite's and a whole bunch of water!
Just thinking out loud (oops with my fingers) LOL! Hey maybe if instead of the lemmon chiffon, use the vanilla pudding and it would make a dip similar to the pre-mixed fruit dip you buy at the store! When ever we have BBQ's I would get it on occasion (it was wonderful with strawberries)! Sounds yummy, I am going to have to try this when I get home! No blender (mixer) here!

When do you go off the pills anyway?
|
Jen,
I stopped taking the hoodia a while ago. It is to suppress your appetite, so if you don't think you need the help; I wouldn't continue. I don't think you have them after stabilization and you are soooo close.
BTW you looked amazing today!

OK, so my day was not the greatest. My WI stayed the same -- no loss, no gain (guess that is still a good thing). But that means I'm only down a total of 1.5 lbs for the last 4 WIs, which averages less than a pound a week. I did better than that on WW and it was a heck of a lot cheaper.
I did get some guidance on the lunch meeting issues. The MRC counselor said not to sweat it, just try to eat some veggies and fruit before them, and agreed with 3MMs suggestion of string cheese. If I don't get the veggies and protein in, I shouldn't get shook about it.
|
I know that being on a plateau is hard. Keep looking forward. This plan does work! You are doing amazing.
I don't have suggestions for your eating out, but I think they are right about not sweating it and 3MM had some amazing ideas.

I got the peach mango HNS to try, all they had was the concentrate. I'm not loving it, its ok, but it doesn't have very much flavor, oh well I'll still drink them. I also got the cappacino to try. I have only tried the cocoa creamy but I don't have one everyday like I did in the beginning. I usually mix instant decaff in it and thought I would try cappacino for a change, hope its good! I am going to really really try to get in more water this week, I have been slacking in that department. I hate water, but that will be my little goal for this week.
|
Another pound gone! Woo-hoo!
I use the peach mango as a marinade for pork tenderloin. Haven't tried it other places. I also heard it is good as a syrup on oatmeal pancakes too.

So....I ate some organic, vegetarian chili...then one of those Uncrustable sandwiches that was left in the freezer. I suppose it could have been worse, but this is the farthest I've been off plan. I will get back in the saddle in the morning, but this possible move is harder than I thought it would be. We've been through a lot in the past 8 years and I guess the thought of not having him around is a bit more disturbing than I thought it would be. Anyway....just thought I would put this down in writing....maybe it will make things a little better getting it out in written form. I know I don't post often, but I try to keep up with reading all the posts and enjoy everyones thoughts and ideas. It helps to know that I have a place to go where there are plenty of folks on this journey with me.
|
I'm so sorry. I hope that you get everything figured out.

I know this is tough. 8 years is a very long time to have someone in your life everyday and then not be there! I will be thinking about you Won't it be great when he sees you again and you are near your goal weight. I bet even being gone 2 weeks he will notice the new you when he gets back!

I am so happy the scale moved for you. I think you will notice in your body comp too and maybe we can stabalize together!!! I really think sometimes they need to make personal adjustments because our bodies are all different. (especially if you move like you do) Thank you so much I feel littler I guess. I think I am going to stop the hoodia and see what happens. I think I only have one more left. If I can't stand it I guess I will do what it takes. I am going to try to trick myself and pretend the amount of pills are the same.
I had some primrose oil left. I started taking this instead of flax. Does anyone know if this ok? If not I think I will go buy fish. Does anyone notice a difference with the different oils?

I use the concentrate. My center manager was telling me how she doesn't like it much either but it used to be my favorite (until Grape... Oh that beloved Grape!).

Yay on starting the new job Monday. It's always so excited to go into a place with a fresh new start. You'll just wow them, I know it!
So you were off plan for a couple of days. It's going to SUCK getting back on (the cravings are a killer) but you can do it. We're all here for you while you re-detox!

Awesome new Jewels! That is great news. And 4 lbs is a kick butt loss! I do NOT blame you for telling them no on the body comp. It will be much better when TOM is gone. And .5 from the 50lb board!?! WOOHOO!!! Just awesome!

I have never thought of doing that. I will have to give it a try next time I pick up a box. On the marinade... Do you mix it with water or use it straight out of the package? How long do you let it sit?

I don't about the evening primrose oil but I did take Fish oil a while back and didn't like it. I could "taste" it when I burped and that just kind of grossed me out. I buy my Flax at Wal-Mart or Target and can usually get it pretty cheap.
-----
I totally slept in today. I got up at 8:30 and let the dog out then went and laid down on the couch and didn't wake up until noon! I know, I know. LAZY! But I have had so much going on the last couple of weekends and I don't sleep much during the week (about 4-5 hours a night) that I guess it just all hit me. I ate "breakfast" but really need to hit the road before I can have lunch. I might cut up some cukes, an apple and just grab some string cheese and eat that on my way to Lubbock. Then I can have "lunch" and dinner tonight about 7 or 8 and get all three meals in.
I'm sure you guys will give me 10 pages to catch up on when I get back tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Oh and by the way.....when I went to WI today I was down another 4.8 lbs. since Wednesday!!!

Congrats on the 4 lbs, that is huge, especially since you weigh so little already, way to go, you are almost there!
