Not only did I get to sign that 30 lb board (which has a lot more room on it than the 10 and 20 did), but I'm only 8.5 away from the 40 lb board! I made her wait until I put my jeans back on before she took the picture while I signed and I have to say, it was one of the cutest pictures EVER of me.

I have got to remember this feeling of accomplishment and happiness every time I feel like slipping.

Back to my lunch (salad, of course)! Hope you all have great days and wonderful weekends. I'll try and get caught up tonight on everything I have missed!

I told her I was fine until I went to the eye dr for a check up, my only problem was my swollen optic nerve & weird veins behind my eye. My vision is 20/15! She got kinda snotty & remarked "Well, I suppose its your perogative." I just told her I would exercise my perogative and not go since it really isn't necessary. Geez! I'd go for sure if they'd found something, but to go for no reason is silly! She then said I still need to schedule a Vision Field exam. (Which I had done already at the original eye dr.) Told her that I filled out a form to have the results sent to the specialist. She said he prefers to do his own. "S'cuse me?" Not necessary! I scheduled it, but gonna cancel. Really seems like a huge effort for some insurance $$$!!! But, regardless...glad I'm abnormally normal.
I am so glad you are abnormally normal!

I lost 125 pounds doing Body for Life over 5 years ago only to regain it all back plus some. The Body for Life plan allows you to have whatever you want to eat one day a week. There is a lot of good logic behind this theory. Your body does not go into starvation mode. You don't feel deprived. I would be 100% on plan for the 6 days, because I knew I could wait for my "free day". Beleive me when I tell you I ate whatever I wanted on my free day. It really seemed to work for me, but it took me twice as long to lose the same amount of weight compared to MRC.

I personally believe it's better to have an off plan day if that will help you stay on the weight loss wagon. It works for some people and not for others. It didn't work for me in the long run. I needed to get my body totally off refined sugar and fatty processed foods (i.e. DONUTS). By doing this, I don't crave the off plan foods similar to what Goal4life has posted. I also feel stronger in my resolve to maintain my weight. I think it was a lifestyle decision for me.

Whatever you decide for yourself, I will stand behind you. Like I said, it works for some people and not for others. Only you can judge if you are one of the people it works for. I don't think I'm superior just because I don't cheat. We are all different.

Like others have posted in the past, cheating can be a "slippery slop". So be careful.

Time will tell if not cheating has help me in the long run. I'll keep you all posted
My goodness I can't even imagine what all I could stuff in my mouth if I was given a green light to eat whatever one day a week. I can say I would have totaly stayed O their P that day.

We all know what we are capable of, what works and what doesn't (some of us are still learning), some are in denial, some lie to themselves, some make excuses to justify it, there are some issues that go beyond food. We are all people who deserve respect and understanding, not judgement or made to feel ignorant. I am totaly not knocking those who have stayed 100% OP, yall rock, I'm refering to the majority.

Can we have papaya as a fruit selection? It isn't on my menu, but I just wondered if anyone else eats it.

Now on a personal note....Has anyone suffered constipation while on MRC? I have been having a significant problem since I began. I talked to my center and really weren't very helpful. I already take to maximum amount of flax, and I also take the internal cleanser. Nothing has helped!!! Does anyone have suggestions???????[/quote]

I think no on the Papaya.
I have heard the fiber drinks and a digestive enzyme.

I hope by all means no one thought I was knocking them down on my earlier post about me staying on plan.
I was just stating that I know me, and if I would have chosen to eat certain foods, or would still choose to eat certain foods, the cliff would give way under foot.
My body and mind has come a long way, and still has a long way to go, in understanding rules and boundaries of food. I didn't get to 275 pounds eating chicken and apples! I know I had/have a food problem. Actually eating chicken and fish and all the other healthy foods that I have been eating now, is something that I can do for the rest of my life, I needed MRC to show me that. If I would have continued to eat the way that I used to (ice cream at 11pm, cookies by the handful, unlimited trips to the buffet, fast food ,etc etc) I would have been leading myself into a horrible fate of poor health at a young age, and who knows if I would be around long enough to enjoy becoming old with my wonderful husband or see my kids grow into adults and make their own dreams. I can only tell you what works for me.
As I said before, we are all different, we all can handle things in a different way. I thought we were supposed to be able to share our stories here, and not be judged by how we do things. In no way did I implicate that anyone was doing something wrong or damaging to themselves, I just told you about me.

Goal4Life - I'm not a big loser, but about your skin question - there is a very informative sticky on skin FAQ in the Body Image section of the Maintenance forum on this website. It pretty much tells you everything you need to know about loose skin, etc.

I like tilapia, mahi mahi, orange roughy, and flounder. Fresh white tuna is great, but I can't find it often in the fresh market. I do eat salmon on 1 of the 5 nights, so you count that for the group 2 proteins. Chicken and turkey is great, and if you aren't a fish person keep with what you like. I usually broil fish under the broiler, salmon and orange roughy can be cooked on the George Foreman grill or on a regular grill as they are more dense. I have cooked mahi mahi on the George Foreman, and it was pretty good. I like the broiler method, because I like the little crispy texture that the fish gets from the broiler. Fish cooks in under 6 mins. So it is just as quick to cook fresh than heating up already cooked meat.

I have had several disappointing WI while being very stick on plan, but the biggest indicator of success for me was the inches lost. Seems like you need a heart to heart talk with one of your favorite consultants. I will send all the positive fat burning, scale pleasing energy your way!
Thanks! I am walking about 1-2 miles 2 - 3 times/wk. I have started to use 1.5lb hand weights during the walks. My goal is to get back to my 3 mile route (next week) 3 times/wk (using the handweights). I have been kinda waiting on the weather to straighten out. I am just afraid of not making it to goal on time. I feel like they are trying to push more herbs on me. They want me to increase my guggal and internal cleanser from 2/day to 4/day. I think I am kinda rebelling and not doing it b/c I already take so many @ 5 different times a day. I am not really having cravings and I am not constipated. I take the liquid minerals once daily (along with many others). Do YOU reccomend that I increase my intake on any of these. At this point I feel like they are trying to make a sale when I come in! I am sure that's not the case, i am just frustrated a bit.

I do not recommend you increase any of your supplements. It's great that you have an exercise routine. Adding the 1.5 lb hand weights will help with intensity. If you don't already, I would power walk (walk real fast) every 5 to 10 minutes during your walks for the fat burning intensity that I was talking about. Try to gradually increase your walk time up to 45 minutes 3 times a week. I really want you to see the results of all your hard work. You will have amazing after pics, I just know it! Keep on keeping on. You are worth it!

Default Loose skin

goal4life~ There aren't too many people that can lose over 100 pounds without the battle scars of loose skin. I have loose skin in the same stomach area as you, plus some around my inner thighs. Fortunately, it's seems minimal to me, and is easily hid when I wear a bathing suit. I have used skin firming cream since I started MRC. I think that plus good genetics help mine stay at a minimum. I have thought that maybe in 2 years I will decide if I want surgery to have it removed. I want to do all I can both physically and nutritionally over a 2 year period before I make a definite decision. From what I've heard from plastic surgeons, the loose skin will not go away without surgery. But I have also heard that strength training can make a difference in reducing loose skin. I would be interested myself to see what the other thread that MSTeacher mentioned has to say about loose skin. I'm just glad I don't belong to a nudist colony. Not ready for that now or in the future.

3monkeysmomma was thinking they were supper things, lunch is even better. The good thing about fruit is its easy to eat on the run. So you can just have an apple, or a ziploc bag with cut strawberries or whatever waiting for you in the car. If its a long ride home you will have plenty of time to munch on your fruit on the way home. Maybe have a very little cooler or lunch box with one of those blue ice thingies in the car, I would leave the little cooler in my car all the time just for my fruit if I were you since this happens so often. Do you drive yourself or does hubby go with? If hubby goes with and he drives I would just heat up veggies at home and take with you then right before you get there chow down. May be difficult if you drive yourself there though, but the fruit wouldn't. And the cheese would be great at lunch. I don't have cheese for breakfast anymore, so that I can have it at lunch.

3MM:

Thanks for taking the time for your replies. I really appreciate your suggestions. My DH usually only attends the dinners with me, so I can't chow down in the car unless it is cheese or fruit. The cooler suggestion is really a great one.

I love the way you respond to so many of us online...it is appreciated!

Just got back from the center and am down 2 more #'s. I got to sign the 55 # board 56 all together!!! I am out of Hoodia and can't afford to buy more. What happens if I just stop it? Anyone have an idea of what to use if anything? I have been on Hoodia since October. For all of you who went through only having 8 #s until stable. is really going to effect me? When do you go off the pills anyway?
