How do they expect me to EVER get to 21% - which is what they say I'm "supposed" to be at??? At this rate, I'd weigh 90 lbs!! HOW does this stuff work? The lady ticked me off today by basically saying I'd never make it to 21% by the end of August and would have to resign. How rude!
MSTeacher~ WAY TO GO!!!
50 POUNDS IS A HUGE LOSS!!!
Now go to the grocery store and pick up a 50 pound bag of dog food. That will help you realize what an awesome job you have done.

Don't worry about the fat percentage, you are doing great! Body fat percentages can very from scale to scale by 5%. A healthy Body Mass Index (BMI) for women can have a healthy fat percent in the low 30's. 21% seems a little low. Mid to upper 20's seems reasonable. You may want to check with your doctor.

Hey guys! Just have a little bit and don't have to get caught up on the 10 pages I'm behind but wanted to update.

I went to weigh in this morning and all the way there, I just kept thinking... "310, 310, 310, 310" (because I needed to be at least 311 to sign the 30 lb board).

I was EXTREMELY good last night and showed some of my early, first days on program, willpower. Went to a play and there was free food and, my arch nemesis... AN OPEN BAR! Ack! But I resisted. I ate before I went, packed an extra HNS and stuck to my water.

Back to my story... I just wanted to see 310 on that scale today so bad and just knew I had been in fat burning mode because I've been so good. My balloon of confidence lost a little air when I used their bathroom and didn't change the ketostix. I just knew I would this time and even limited my water majorly after breakfast. But I tried to stay positive and kept thinking, "310. 310. 310."

I sat down with the counselor and was almost too antsy to sit still while she took my blood pressure (which was actually up a little but I think it's because I was so anxious to weigh in). I had brought a pair of shorts (super light weight) to change into because it's casual Friday at work and I was in jeans. I got into my "weighing in" attire and off we went to the scale. I told my counselor what number I was looking for and so we were both kind of chanting it as I stepped on the scale. Lo and behold, that beautiful piece of electronic wondermusness landed on 309.5!!! Booyah! I almost cried. My eyes totally welled up with tears.

Not only did I get to sign that 30 lb board (which has a lot more room on it than the 10 and 20 did), but I'm only 8.5 away from the 40 lb board! I made her wait until I put my jeans back on before she took the picture while I signed and I have to say, it was one of the cutest pictures EVER of me.

I have got to remember this feeling of accomplishment and happiness every time I feel like slipping.

Back to my lunch (salad, of course)! Hope you all have great days and wonderful weekends. I'll try and get caught up tonight on everything I have missed!

These are all accurate helpful hints.
As I have said before, I eat fish 5 nights a week, chicken/turkey 1 night, and steak/bison the other night. I find that I can't eat/drink creamies daily, I have them everyother day (unless I am really needing something more that day). I think spinach is considered a 'super food', it has so many great benefits to eating it raw or cooked. If you are doing your min. HNS, I would jump up to your max and see if you see a difference also. Tune into your body, some of us can have cheese daily. If you have an intolerance to wheat or dairy, try eating the corn tortillas or rye melbas instead of wheat bread/flour tortillas/wheat melbas. It really is about learning what works for you.

I am with Deb on the cheats issue.
I just can't cheat..if I allow 1 or any cheats...that is it, the downward spiral would begin. Since beginning MRC in October, I haven't had 1 off plan food, now I have shuffled our on plan foods around some, and I have eaten cheese for dinner, but, off plan no. I have no cravings, and don't even desire foods that used to be my "favs". I actually get sick to my stomach sometimes when thinking about or smelling chocolate (something that I "had" to eat daily before). I think because my body is used to the good whole foods that I have been feeding it, it knows that other stuff is bad now. My DH brought home fast food burgers for him and the kiddos over the weekend, and I literally could not eat at the table with them, it smelled gross, and I could just see the grease oozing off...eewww, I was so close to having to run to the bathroom, I just moved over to eat at the breakfast island instead!!!
I have invested to much money, time, and energy to eat that type of food again.
Once Darren and I were talking about this, probably 10 threads back , but food is now just a source of energy for me, no longer is it something that I long for, or use as rewards. I think by eating off plan, you never really teach your body that it doesn't need that food. I dont' want to slip into old habits, I want my new lifestyle to become my only habit. That is just me, each of us is different.

I want some Goji Juice, were do I find it Darren?

So glad you found it! My mom used to use those ring guards 3MM mentioned. They really work good. I may have to go get a few too. I lost the little ring I wear on my pinkie. It was a small sapphire. Thanks for the tip 3MM

Went to WI yesterday and was down another 3.6 lbs. WOOHOO!!! I have lost 21.6 so far. I feel like I have been on MRC for a long time, but it really has been only 35 days.

I have a couple of questions. How much weight did you guys have to lose before you dropped a pant size? I currently wear a 24 and they are getting really baggy, but I still can't fit into a 22.

Can we have papaya as a fruit selection? It isn't on my menu, but I just wondered if anyone else eats it.

Now on a personal note....Has anyone suffered constipation while on MRC? I have been having a significant problem since I began. I talked to my center and really weren't very helpful. I already take to maximum amount of flax, and I also take the internal cleanser. Nothing has helped!!! Does anyone have suggestions???????
About the papaya...I asked about pears and my center said they had too much sugar. It would probably be best to call them and ask about the papaya.

The constipation thing...I was having a terrible time. Went to the dr. and she suggested taking mineral oil. It tastes nasty. I gave up the flax while I was doing that and it helped. (May need to take a little more) Everyone is different though.

Ok, on to my big question of the day, it is mostly to the "big losers" (those of us with more than 50+ pounds lost-not trying to discriminate, but you will see when I ask the question why).....
I have been exercising the entire time that I have been following MRC. I do light weight training, I do core exercising, etc etc... I am now noticing some areas of extra skin. I was hoping because I am still pretty young, and my skin is still pretty elastisic, that I wouldn't have this issue (considering I had over 100 pounds to lose). However, the trouble zones are my whole stomach (upper and lower), and my hips (you would think my bum, but no, just the outsides of my upper thighs). My arms and legs have toned up nicely, as my bum and back have also. I love the way I look in clothes, and jumping for joy over the pounds lost forever, but I am beginning to get a bit of a self consious (sp) feeling in bathing suits (I am in South GA, so yes, we are in bathing suits already), and also in the presence of my DH, when I am in the buff. Now, the strange thing is I was never self consious when 275 pounds!!! WTH??? Does the stomach flabbiness change as my body levels off at it's goal, or will I always have this flab, now if so, am considering having it removed, after 1 year of maintaining. Any help?? I think my upper thighs will tone up with more weight training, not to much extra flab, just a bit, but I think my stomach is a hopless cause. Any suggestions from those who are there already?

ANGIERUE- Great job on the 30 lb board! Also, great job last night at the play! I know that was tough! It would have been for me. I am always a sucker for free food and alcohol! Keep it up!

Also, today I ate a donut . We have them all the time at work, and it usually doesn't bother me, but today I had to have one. It's crazy, because I was planning to eat one at the end of next month as a celebration for being promoted, but I guess I couldn't wait (tee hee, I almost typed "weight"). Anyway, all OP after that, but it was weird anyway.
A donut! LOL but it was back OP right after, right? Then just one slap on the hand and back up on the bike you go.

Sorry the cooking class was disappointing! I really love ours. Did you ask if they have a class that teaches how to make some new things??? Maybe they thought a tasting is all that was wanted.

My counselor offered a suggestion I had considered on my own, but somehow seems more "ok" coming from her. I get so bored with the same things, and its SO hard with 4 kids to not eat pizza, spagetti, tacos, etc... She said if I felt I had to go off plan then to set a certain day each week to do it. That way several days I would still be in fat burning mode. I tend to only go off 1 meal, but typically every 4th day. So, if I KNEW that on say Saturday, I could eat what I want (within reason) it would be more beneficial to me than how I am now. Makes sense? I know this isn't the right way. But, I think I would be able to look at it as a reward for doing well all week and give me the motivation to not cheat a little here or there. I only want/need one meal...breakfast is always easy for me, generally lunch also, but dinner is when we are all together. I'm just feeling very deprived... I wish I could be more disciplined...

I have seen these recommended in many diets. I cannot do it as I just keep going off plan, but it may be a really good idea!
