Default Personal Update

I WI yesterday for the first time in a week (since my binge) and I only gained 1/2 a pound. I know it's a gain, but I was glad it wasn't more. It was funny though b/c the lady @ the center looked at me out of the corner of her eye and said "we are NOT going to be happy with that!". TOO FUNNY.

I went for a class (Healthy Habits), but they never had the class. They got behind and no one else showed up so they said they'll have again next month or I can do one on one with the manager. So I sat there for a while for nothing. Oh, well.

I just wanted to check in and say that I am totally OP again today.

Dinner yesterday was turkey, broccoli and I think I forgot my bread (I just realized that, oops). I had a creamy chocolate pudding/shake thing after that (I made my chocolate pudding into a drink).

Breakfast today..ALL my pills, an HNS and oatmeal, 1oz cheese & 1 med egg and water.

Okay..How is everyone else doing today? I've got a terrible headache and there are donuts in my breakroom (thanks dh for bringing those in for the guys! UGH!). I haven't had one and I'm able to resist b/c I'm full from my breakfast and water.

Have a great LOSER day everyone!

Went to WI yesterday and was down another 3.6 lbs. WOOHOO!!! I have lost 21.6 so far. I feel like I have been on MRC for a long time, but it really has been only 35 days.

I have a couple of questions. How much weight did you guys have to lose before you dropped a pant size? I currently wear a 24 and they are getting really baggy, but I still can't fit into a 22.

Can we have papaya as a fruit selection? It isn't on my menu, but I just wondered if anyone else eats it.

Now on a personal note....Has anyone suffered constipation while on MRC? I have been having a significant problem since I began. I talked to my center and really weren't very helpful. I already take to maximum amount of flax, and I also take the internal cleanser. Nothing has helped!!! Does anyone have suggestions???????
I have had the same problem. I moved my dinner flax to bedtime with 2 internal cleanser and sometimes I drink a fulfill (fiber drink). I also started back drinking coffee(decaf of course). I try to drink 2-3 fulfill a day. You could probably just add benefiber or something like that to your HNS.

You maybe could find a little bity squeeze bottle type thing to put dressing in and keep in your purse, you could tell anyone that might look at you weird that you have to watch your sugar (not a lie) they may assume diabetic or something but thats what assuming gets you, lol. If the protein is totally not an option then you can fall back on the string cheese, maybe string it up and put in your salad? On the days you know you have a dinner then maybe don't have any cheese during the day so you can save it for supper, I know we aren't suppose to have it at night but considering your dilema.
I buy Kraft Light Balsamic vinegrette dressing in single serve packs so that I have it when I am at work or out to eat.

Crystal...have you heard from the Dr. yet......hope everything is ok.

Can anyone tell me the lemon pudding/cottage cheese thing a gain? I made what I thought was the recipe last night for breakfast today, and I couldn't eat it. It was gross. Maybe I did it wrong.

About the planned cheats. I know that I can't do that anymore. The littleist cheat sends me on a path that takes forever to get off of. I have just decided not to go there anymore. I have invested to much to do that. To much time, tears and $$$$$. I have to buckle down and work hard at it.
Maybe for my birthday I will have a little something. CHEESECAKE!!!

Is there anyone who is is on at least once a week that would be willing to be my email accountability partner?? (more for my sake since there is no center)Thanks in advance for all your help. Welcome back! Isn't it nice knowing that you have a built in support group right here? You are going to do just as amazing as the first time!!! Congrats on your decision to be healthier.

This sounds great. I never used the hoodia as an appetite control as I tend not to get hungry (until recently, LOL) but the original hoodia they sold had cayanne pepper to make it a themo. I think this would be better.

Hi all. WI today and lost 1 lb, but that let me sign the 50 lbs board.

I am TOTALLY CONFUSED about this body fat percentage/Tanita stuff. Can someone please explain this to me: I've lost 50 lbs but only 6% body fat? I went from 52% to 46%???? How do they expect me to EVER get to 21% - which is what they say I'm "supposed" to be at??? At this rate, I'd weigh 90 lbs!! HOW does this stuff work? The lady ticked me off today by basically saying I'd never make it to 21% by the end of August and would have to resign. How rude!

Wow! That is rude. I know there are others here who can help you but I don't know enough about the Tanita either. Wish I did.

Congrats on the 50lb board though! That is awesome! Great job. Keep it up and the body fat percentages will drop too.

Default Tanita Scales

I think that those scales are more of a guideline than something written in stone. In my instance my bf% is still 33% or more and I only have 11 pounds until my goal. We must realize that our efforts are commendable and that we are NOT doing this to meet someone elses goal but our own. We are not just about numbers but about healthful living.

Next week I will be finishing my second calender month on the program and will ask to be weighed and measured again. The bf% I quoted above is on my own home unit which is pretty close to what the center's scale reads. They tell me that for my age and body type it should be no more than 28%. I cannot believe that it will be achieved by my weight loss goal. But, I will continue to eat in a healthy way and do whatever it takes to maintain the pounds that have been lost.

I agree. We need encouragement, not discouragement! I was thinking about the BF% ...It is upsetting to think that you may be at goal or within a few lbs of goal and to think that they won't put you in stabalization b/c of that. I really think that is unfair! We can be working on BF% while in stabalization! CONGRATS on the 50 lb board! That is AWESOME!

Default Planned Cheats

I've been reading with interest the various posts regarding "planned cheats". I'm one of those who that would never work for, for a few reasons.

The first reason would be that I would not "stop" with that ... my body is very carb sensitive and eating them even once in an overload sense triggers all of my cravings ... so I have to just say no, no, no. As an old Atkins person, I have learned stuff about myself in this regard. If Atkins had local centers and accountability the way MRC does I probably would have continued with that, it worked very well for me. But along with that, I know that eating sugar carbs defeats the whole purpose.

The second reason for me is financial for me. My center says that every time you eat off program and go out of "fat-burning" mode (and that can be as little as one bite of cake) that it takes your body 3 days to get back to it, which slows your weight loss dramatically. That means more weeks, which means more supplements. I spend about $100-125 per month on the HNS. And it could mean having to add more weeks to your program. I'm still on track to meet my goal by June 6, so that probably won't be a concern for me as long as I stay on program, but the thought of having to add more HNS, more money is one that is very hard for me. Being single, this has been a huge financial investment for me and I want to be as smart with it as I possibly can. It's an investment that I totally believe has been worth every cent however, as I feel better than I have for years! I just don't want to keep pouring money down the drain when I'm not doing what I'm supposed to.

And third, I'm trying to break myself from rewarding myself with food ... it just sounds very scary for me (tempting, but scary) -- I'm trying to not use food as a reward for "being good" or "coping with stress" or "to get through" ... and I think if I were to do that, I would try to do it with a food that there was some nutritional value to ... say eating an extra fruit or something like that. I just don't believe I could ever break my bad eating choices by rewarding myself with dessert, for example. This has to be a series of liftime changes for me, not going back to what I used to do (that obviously didnt' work for me )

I know it's a very personal decision for people and we all do what works for us, so I'm truly only talking about myself. I only know that I, personally, have to stay on program to get to my goal and make sure these changes are forever.

Hi everyone. WI today for 1lb loss. I am not thrilled with that. I am losing about 2lbs/week now. If I am going to meet my goal in time, I should be losing about 3 lbs/wk. I told my counsler that 2 lb/wk is not enough! I have not cheated. I am happy that I have lost and I feel better. I do plan for this to be a lifestyle change BUT...I want the results that I am paying for. I don't want to have to spend more money by resigning because I didn't lose 3 lbs/wk (when I stayed OP). I am also taking ALL of the reccomended pills that they sell. I think I have spent atleast $1000 in this first month!
I told you guys, yesterday I was light and bright, today I am down and more down

Ugh.. That's got to be so frustrating. At least when I gain or los VERY little, I know it's usually my fault b/c I cheated. If you're doing everything they say AND taking all those supps, they should understand your concerns about not losing. I would think their guarantee would fall into that somewhere, wouldn't it? I know I've cheated, so I couldn't say it didn't work for me when it was really my fault. What did they say?? Did they have any suggestions (other than more supps??).

She printed off some material on "how to increase fat burn". She suggested that I eat more fish. I read the material. In it, it suggested more supps and to cut down on creamies. It also said to eat spinach and romaine lettuce and to have 1/2 portion of veggies with 1/2 portion of salad. Also, moderate exercise. I will try some of these and see what helps!
