I tried both and I personally hated Nutrisystem, but loved Medifast. However, there are others that had the opposite experience

I think both programs allow you to order small sample packages so you can try them out before making a large purchase.

Well, Medifast & Nutrisystem are two very different programs so it really is a personal preference thing. I looked into Nutrisystem first & didn't like that it was mostly tv dinner type food...the higher carbs & sodium scared me. I'm sure some of the NS folks will be by to add their thoughts.

I lost most of my weight using Medifast. It is easy & yet not so easy. By that I mean that it is easy to have the various 5 Medifast meal replacements (shakes, soups, oatmeals, puddings, bars, etc.) + 1 healthy meal of lean protein & veggies a day. Not so easy in that you HAVE to stick with the plan & follow their directions to realize the rapid weight loss.

Both are good, but different plans. With Medifast & I think Nutrisystem, you can order a 2-week supply & try it out for two weeks to see what you think. Hopefully others will chime in with their thoughts. Good luck on whatever diet you chose to follow!

My sister-in-law gave us a box of left over Nutrisystem food, a ton of it and we threw it out. It was bad. Medifast is much better but it is still hard because you are so limited in food choices. But then that limiting keeps you honest and on the program. I would pick one and try for a short time. Medifast is great about returns, not sure about Nutrisystem.

I read A LOT of comments online before choosing a plan. Nutrisystem had a lot of negatives for taste and customer service. Medifast seemed to be more varied with individual tastes as opposed to an overall dislike. I haven't tried Nutrisystem myself though.

So far I haven't found anything on Medifast I have disliked. I've thought some a little bland but that's the worst. (I haven't tried everything either.)

Of course when you are seeing yummy cakes and macaroni and cheese and pizza and stuff and are eating soup it's bound to be a little disappointing. (That was my 3rd day on the plan.)

I personally have done both programs. I did have success with Nutrisystems, but it was slower than Medifast. Medifast is a more drastic program, however I think that is why it works so well.

I HIGHLY recommend Medifast over Nutrisystems. Another thing that Medifast does is provide all of the daily required nutrients so no need to take supplemental vitamins. I have never felt better, especially as I am post menopause and the soy products have really helped me in that area

My experience was that a lot of the Nutrisystem food was just awful in taste. But you did get to eat more than you do on Medifast. But the medifast foods taste a whole lot better.
