Default Can I have bread?

I'm trying to eat a lower-ish carb diet, I've cut out a lot of sugar. But I still like to have a piece of wheat (sprouted grain) bread several days a week for breakfast, is this ok?

Also, where is everyone? is this a dead thread?

The low carb foums are very slow. I'm guessing Atkins style dieting isn't so fashionable.

Check out the South Beach section. It's a lower carb diet that will allow for whole wheat bread.

My suggestion is cut bread entirely for a while, track your progress, and then allow yourself some occasionally and see what happened. I have found that personally wheat products and I do not get along when it comes to weight loss or even maintenance. It's the one carb that really seems to make my body hang on to fat or even gain weight- well, wheat and alcohol. Other carbs I can have in moderation. You may find you can have it in moderation and be fine, or you may find that it's not working for you.
