Well, mine is alittle bit of Body for Life and alittle bit of LOWER carbs (not low-carb).
It comes to about 50% protein/30%carb/20%fat.

I also take one day a week where I allow myself a free meal and 1 free snack (usually Thursdays for me and we go out for dinner). This way I have an incentive to stay clean all week, when I know that I can have whatever I am craving on that day. If I but a snack item for that day, I make sure that it is not more that I would eat for that day. Don't want any leftover chips or cookies in the house the next day. Too tempting!!

Exercise is weight lifting 3 X week, and cardio 2-3 X week.

The higher protien version of weight watchers.

Three meals and a snack a day. All with protein. Before bed maybe a desert of sugary/starchy variety.

Default I read all the books...

Atkins, Protein Power, The Forumla, The Zone, CAD and LowCarb Living, and have come up with a plan that works for me.

I start each day with a protein drink, usually made with frozen fruit, then lunch is a salad with meat, and evening meal is a meat and veggie. I'm not sure what the carbs come to, but if I really want something with carbs I go ahead and eat it, but just don't do it often.

The pounds are just falling off...I love it.

After a year on WW , trying to keep it lower carb and only losing 28 lb in all that time, I have given up on it and gone back on strict ATKINS. I just feel so much better eating high protein/fat and less than 30 gr carb per day. My mood improves, my energy increases, my appetite decreases, carb cravings disappear, blood glucose levels drop and best of all I LOSE WEIGHT!!

Default so, ruthie, this is where we can post our rude answers???

ok. roux en y gastric bypass here...

but, we have to follow a low-carb plan for life: 70% protein, 20% carbs [including fruits and vegs], and 10% fat.

and on bad days, the only thing i can manage is the protein.

and don't worry. vitamin and mineral supplements.

I am an Atkid at heart!

I restrict my carbs even when I am not "dieting" for weight loss, and try to keep any carbs to low glycemic one, like berries and fruit, but small portions. A little oatmeal, or 1/2c. pasta at a time(like in a WW entree). I just feel better this way.

I have used Protien Power(I like spreading the carbs out over the day), CALP, and Schwartzbein Principle. I think the latter is the closest to my goal for how to eat for life.

But I don't lose weight if I eat that many carbs, so it's always back to Atkins for me! Love Dr. A, he's the man!

At first I was doing my own thing and just restricting carbs for the most part. Then I dabbled at doing Atkins (too restrictive). Then I tried Protein Power and I still like it, but after reading Carbohydrate Addicts Diet, I was amazed at the fact they were talking about me, so I'm going to do their diet for awhile. At least see if it helps. This is the first eating plan I've actually been enthusiastic about, wish me luck. Judy

Hi all

I have been doing WW but I have been trying to low-carb it for the last month or so.

I bought Eat Great, Lose Weight by Susan Sommers and have been slowly implementing her Sommercize program.

Susan, glad to see someone else into Sommercizing, I thought I was the only one here
