Hi Everyone:
Back at work today I think is off until next week though so I
can certainly be more relaxed.......
I feel like I have a food hangover I just don't feel myself. I am going
to be really good until new years eve then of course, we will have a family
party. We plan to order pizza and have a few drinks. I take my tree down
on New Years day. Aleka, I am going to refresh myself on Suzannes rule and
go for it. I always liked that program.
Are you guys doing anything on New Years Eve?
Anne.

Good morning,
Today is my youngest DD's birthday, she's 23. I'm getting her cake today and we are celebrating tomorrow. More cake, just what I don't need. I know she won't mind if I don't eat any, because she is dieting herself and understands.
It is suppose to be in the 50's here today and the 60's tomorrow. I asked DH if he has any plans and he said no, so we are going to get the cake together (it's in Pella across the river) and then on the way back, eat a sub in the park, then walk the trails today. Yesterday, it didn't happen. I hope it really does warm up enough to eat outside and isn't too windy.
I have to get a new ticker too, Aleka. Your's looks so pretty. I will have to try that recipe sometime. I have lots of pudding in the cabinet and planned on getting some yogurt on Friday too.
Tarragon isn't one of my favorite herbs either

Lynn, hope you got more sleep last night. The dogs sound like something from a Stephen King novel and I hate it when strange dogs come into our yard. We are talking about getting a shot gun, not to kill them, just to be able to scare them off. We've had some of the biggest dogs out here and I still have one cat outside.

Anne, good luck at work today. It must be easier to return knowing that won't be there to "welcome" you back. I have no plans for New Years Eve. DH is suppose to work, although he keeps teasing me saying he will call in sick and we will have a few drinks together, but I know he won't. I don't want to anyway, I gained back 2 lbs and now, can't seem to make the scale move down in the other direction. I figure if I'm on track for a few more days, things will start to head in the right direction, but I have to be consistent, or it'll never happen. We have weight charts in the exercise room from the last two years. I looked back and every year, it's the same story, I gain a lot of weight over the holidays, then it takes till spring to get it off. Then over the summer, I put it back on again. I decided I just have to make some more changes, if I want to really succeed this time. And this year, I really do want to make it below 200 and keep getting closer to my goal weight. So that's my resolution for the coming year.
Speaking of all that, I need to go exercise. I am still doing the 3 mile. It is hard, but I found after I get past the 2 mile mark, I get a second wind and feel great. Must be the endorphines kicking in. Later, Nikki

Hi again..

Nikki, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your DD For some reason I thought it was last Sunday. I like your new ticker. I had to move mine back to 0 since I gained the 3 lbs. I had lost.

Anne, that's good news that is on vacation and you can have a fairly stress free week. Suzanne's plan is a good one and it really did work for you. Someone on her BB posted that she's been SSizing 5 yrs.

Well, my breakfast has almost settled, time to put in an exercise tape.

Good Morning All: First of all the desserts sound great Aleka but what does SF mean? I'm sure I know but I'll blame my cold for being so dense I feel like myself at all. I was happy to realize that today is only Wednesday and I have 2 days until my company arrives. So I will take another day off. We both are going to go shopping today maybe just to get out will help. We have been in the house except for walking the dog since Sunday. I did grocery shop on Monday but just to make it though a few days. The fruit and veggies looked awful, I'm hoping there has been a new delivery since Monday. DH said he wants to leave shortly as they are calling for freezing rain later so must go, will be back later

Aleka, I think the reason you were thinking her birthday was last weekend was, we were going to celebrate it on Sunday. Then, she made plans with some friends to go to the casino on Sunday, so we decided to celebrate her birthday tomorrow, on her next day off.
Tomorrow is going to be a long day. I have to take DD #1 to a Dr appointment in a town that is 45 min from here. We will leave at 10am, be back by 130 (I hope) and have the birthday party at 2pm.
Today, DH and I went over to get the cake. We had lunch at Subway and then went to the thrift store over there. It's kind of a high end place for 2nd hand stuff, but it's fun to look through. Afterward, we went for a walk at the lake and we both enjoyed that. The eagles are back from Alaska and it's neat to watch them. It was such a beautiful day today. Tomorrow, they say it might break a record for a high.
Lynn, sure hope you didn't get something like I had. I'm still coughing and stuffed up. I feel like I've been sick for a year now.

Good Morning Everyone:
Weather here is great. I love the break and I am hoping all the white stuff
melts in the next couple of days!
Nikki belated birthday greetings to your DD Wow, that must
have been quite a Christmas for you the year she was born, right between
Christmas and New Years
I am getting two of my sons to do the grocery shopping for me Friday. Everything is closed of course on New Years Day and since I have to work
until 2pm tomorrow....I figure this will be the best solution. Food goes fast
in my household
Lynn, hope you didn't get the freezing rain. I just hate that

Aleka, the thing I like best about Suzannes is no indigestion of any kind.
There really must be something to the food combining I also like that
the carbs aren't eliminated to any extent. I figure all things in moderation.

Have a great day ladies
Anne.

Hello everyone,

I did an older Leslie Sansone Walk Aerobics tape, way before WATP. It's for people over 40. So I thought since I haven't been exercising for a very long time, this was a good one to start with. Then in the afternoon I took Lacee for a 15 min. walk around the block.

Do any of you have plans New Years Eve? We're staying put. The drivers down here are maniacs to begin with, never mind adding alcohol to the mix. We'll probably do our usual, go to bed at our usual time and if one of us wakes up before midnight, we'll wake the other one up. We bought a bottle of Asti Spumante to ring in the New Year, if we're up. If we're not up, we'll have it for our anniversary, and we've also been known to forget it's in the fridge and discover it sometime later in the year. As you can tell, we're real party animals!

Nikki, you will have a very busy day today. Subway is one of my favorite places to eat. I've told DH that we're going to eat a lot healthier in 2005, and that Subway will be the only fast food place we're going to eat at. Have a good time at your DD birthday party.

Lynn, how are you feeling today? Better, I hope. Did you get to do your grocery shopping before the roads got icy?

Anne, how is work going without ?

Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning,
Anne, hope your nice weather continues and that your enjoying your day at work.

Aleka, Asti Spumante is our favorite. When DH and I were first seeing each other, he gave me a bottle for my birthday. We were sitting in the park and it was so sweet. He even brought plastic champagne glasses We usually have a bottle on our anniversary too.

I have no idea why, but I've gained 3 lbs this week. I stayed OP with my diet, I've exercised even more than usual and I'm drinking water like a fish. I know muscle weighs more than fat, but I don't think I could possible gain 3 pounds of muscle in a few days. Muscle is too hard to make to gain it that quickly. I am very strict with my portions, so I'm at a loss as to what is going on. It's not even that TOM at least I hope not again.
I decided to take a day off of exercise today. I've hit it really hard lately and think my body needs a break.

Well, got to run, it's going to be a busy day, Nikki

Hi Boy there would be 2 moon's in the sky the time I forgot a bottle of wine in my fridge Do you Americans get Buckley cough syrup there? It is the worst tasting stuff going but it appears to be helping. Had a rude awakening last night. A transformer blew up the road and the bang was so loud I almost fell out of bed. That was at 2:30 so I was up the rest of the night reading with a flash light. I now have a headache but I still feel better than yesterday. Still haven't done any housework but should do some tomorrow, which will be a busy day as I have to shop. Did you hear that Leslie Sansome has a book coming out on exercise and diet? Well that's it for now. I'm going to lie down for a while. Bye for now.

Good Morning Everyone!
Thank God its Friday, although the week has been pleasant without

It is pouring rain today, on the upside its getting rid of all that snow

Nikki, I often use to notice a slight fluctuation in my weight before I would
talke a big drop. In your case I bet its the same thing. You are doing
awsome!! How was your DD birthday party?

Aleka, We stay put too and have our own party. I like watching videos
like Monty Python and Dame Edna. It gives me a great laugh which I could
use this year. 2004 is not a year I will look fondly back on especially now
with the tidal wave disaster

Lynn, Buckelys mixture is the best although the taste leaves something to
be desired

Have a super day Ladies!!!!
Anne.

Good morning,

DH & I made our early trip to Walmart this morning, then to breakfast at our favorite restaurant.

We've decided to have Chinese take out for dinner tonight. This take out place has a dish called honey chicken. OMG is it ever good. We'll probably watch a DVD of the TV show Home Improvement DH gave me for Christmas while we're having our Chinese food.

Anne, I think we were posting at the same time yesterday. What a terrible tragedy that tidal wave was. My heart goes out to those poor people. I can't get over how many people have died so far. Glad you've had a pleasant week without Will she be back next week?

Nikki, hope you had a good time at your DD birthday party. I hope you're not upset about gaining 3 lbs. I've noticed the same thing Anne mentioned. Sometimes I've gained before I've lost a large amount of weight. You're doing fantastic, so keep doing what you're doing. One time I had a Dr. appt. while I was attending WW. She was pleased about my weight loss, and we got to talking about dieting. She told me that there would be times where I'd gain or not lose anything, and not to get discouraged. My WW leader once told us that in the end it's the "snail" that wins.

Lynn, what a rude awakening! Hope the transformer got fixed. I don't think we have Buckleys in the US. At least I've never seen it. Glad it's working for you.

I hope you all have a wonderful New Year.

Good morning,
It's going to be another beautiful day here, from the looks of it. I plan on washing the car. It got up to 65 yesterday. I can't believe how nice it's been here.
Anne, the videos sound like a good idea. I think I'll rent a movie off of the satellite and have some popcorn and a Pepsi edge. A friend sent me a little airplane size bottle of whiskey to drink at midnight. She is from Canada too and wanted to buy me a drink that we could drink at the same time. If I'm awake, I'll probably have a shot and hit the sack.
DD #2 said she had a nice birthday. I made a diet pop cake for myself. I should have just had a piece of her cake, because later, I ate almost the entire diet pop cake by myself. I don't even know why I did that. I am wondering if my TOM is going to happen again. I'm feeling like an emotional mess and I usually crave chocolate then, and it was a chocolate cake. My last one just ended a week ago.

Lynn, I've never seen that cough syrup here. Two moons, That's the way it is here too. If we didn't drink it, then sometime when DH was piddliing around in the garage, he's open the bottle and drink it himself. Which is why if I want any, I have to drink it as soon as possible. Neither one of us knows the meaning of saving something. Our bank account is evidence of that-I don't know why we even have one of those
I hadn't heard that about Leslie coming out with a new book. I like her, she seems like a real nice person.
Are you feeling any better? Hope you got some sleep last night.

Aleka, how's it going in beautiful Florida? I hope your weather is getting nicer now.

Well, suppose I better do something with myself. If I don't get up, I'll sit here all morning. Nikki

Aleka, we were posting at the same time. I was kind of discouraged about the weight gain. I'm just going to get back on track today and do what I was doing before. I know it will start to come off again. What I find is so funny is, I don't think of myself as being over weight, yet when I see my reflection in the store mirrors or window, I'm always shocked at how big I am. Still, after all these years, it just doesn't seem like it's real. How did I get my mothers body? Take care, Nikki

Default New Years Day!!

Good morning,

Hope you all had a great night last night. We were awake at midnight, or thereabouts. But, did not toast in the New Year. I think everyone in the neighborhood shot of fireworks which got Lacee very upset, and I was up trying to calm her down. FINALLY! DH woke up, I swear a bomb could go off next to him and he wouldn't hear a thing and I asked him to go get one of our fans and set it up to help drown out the noise. He set one up, turned it on, and it really helped. Lacee finally settled down in the crook of my arm. DH & Lacee immediately fell asleep, but I was awake the rest of the night until around 4:00-ish, then I slept until 6:30. I think I can forsee a nap in my future this afternoon.

Our Chinese food was delicious. I ate way..way..way too much. I even surprsed myself with how much I ate. I guess that's what happens when you don't have a decent lunch. After our breakfast, I wasn't hungry for lunch, so later in the afternoon I just had something for a snack.

Nikki, unfortunately we turn into our mothers. Everytime I look in the mirror I always wonder why my mother is looking back at me. I was very lucky in the gene pool, I took after all the fat people on both sides of my family. The last time I made the diet pop cake I did the exact same thing you did, I practically ate the whole thing myself. I justified it by telling myself it was a diet cake. I don't make that cake anymore.

Anne, how were the videos? I hope you enjoyed them.

Lynn, I hope you're feeling better. Did you toast in the New Year?

Enjoy your day today.
