Welcome! You are to be commended for being concerned about your health before it becomes a problem.

The best thing to do is research the various low carb plans and see which one sounds like it would best suit you. You can do the research on the internet or go to the library and skim through the low carb books. We would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have but to start from scratch and tell someone how to completely change over to low carb is too much - whoa!

So go find out some of the anwers to your questions and then come back here and join us for support! We love to have new blood here!

I have looked some up on the net.I am very active at work so I think that I can go with a little higher carb count then 20-30 grams. But I haven't decided how high I should go from there.I want to look weight but not to fast.My main thing right now is to steed up my metabolism.

First thing you need to do is decide which plan to be on. Do your research to see which one suits you better and then BUY THE BOOK AND READ IT FROM BEGINNING TO END to understand how that plan works and follow it to a tee.
Do some research on:
Atkins
South Beach
Sugar Busters
The Protein Power Plan

just to name a few...if you have any questions, just holler!

Good luck!

There's no other advice I could give that would differ from what you've already received. Congrats on the decision to change things...and good luck in the plan you wish to follow. The atkins part of 3fatchicks has a Q&A type sticky thread if you're interested in reading that. But the books really are the best things to go by. Of course, I know a few people that have made their own low carb plan. That's an option also Good luck on your weight loss journey!!
