Daily - Monday June 10
Morning Chickies!
Noisy here in this sleepy village this morning! There seems to be a loon convention going on. They have been flying between our two lakes hollering and screaming since 3:30. The robins chirped in around 4 and two flocks of Canada geese went over honking away. What a racket! I'm really not complaining - it's nice to know our lakes are in good enough shaope to support loons.
Yesterday was busy but productive. I finally have most of my veggies planted. Almost everything is planted a month late so we will see what kind of crop we get. I'm going to miss "living off the land" in June this year - usually I have broccoli and salad greens by the 15th.
The Girls are ready for breakfast. Catch you later. They are soooo spoiled!

Just time for a quick good morning!
I think the day will go better if I post here, it's like a little concrete reminder of what I'm trying to do...drink water, eat protein.
The last 2 days were better, but not great. I made a meatloaf for lunches this week, with baby carrots, yougurts and cottage cheese for snacks. A pretty good start.
Have a good one!

Morning! Morning! Morning!
Last full week of school for the big kid...I think the little guy is out on the 19th! I plan to pick up mom and run back to the salvation army and hit some consignment shops to look for pretty cheap, pretty AND cheap candy dishes that I can fill up with candy for the gazillion teachers that my kids have. The little guy has 5 in his classroom a 1:2 ratio for these quirky kids...then there is the nurse who gives him his daily meds (amen) the speach, gym, OT, social worker and yadda yadda yadda! I just KNEW I was going to regret not picking up that $3 mikasa heart dish last week! grrrrrrr
Here's hoping for a fun filled day of fiber for me!

Good morning, Chickies!
Wow! You are up and early this AM. Me, too. And feeling great!
Down 7 pounds and 7.5" from when I started the gym!
Peach Pit -- Have you considered giving votive candles in little holders instead of candy? Our local Dollar Store sells the votives for 2/$1.00 and the holders are only $1.00 each (sometimes you can get them in 2 or 3 packs of the same design for just $1.00). Or maybe some herbal tea in a cute tea/coffee cup? I try to avoid candy for my kids' teachers only because it seems like they are all on diets. Guess we all know how that feels. I've also given flower pots and seeds with seed markers the kids have made as gifts to teachers I know like to garden. Just some thoughts. Have fun shopping!
Going to the gym tonight -- Alone! DD is in a snit this morning already (has been most of the weekend). She and her class are going to Water Country (local water park). She doesn't want to carry a lunch or a drink. I insisted on an insulated water bottle full of pink lemonade and some granola bars at least. Then, after getting mad at me because, You never listen to me. I told you I don't want anything!", she hits her father up for money (which we don't have and she knows it) "in case" the stop at Burger King! I know she's only 13-1/2 and most kids her age go through this stage of *itchyness but God I'm not sure I can make it through! She is my mother's revenge on all that I put her through! (I know because my mom just laughs when I complain to her about DD!)
DS6's school is sponsoring a petting zoo right on the school grounds. Seems we made so much money during the fundraisers this year that the PTA is being generous with the kids. Wednesday they are going to the local fun center to play miniature golf and drive kiddie-sized go carts.
Well, that's it for now. Will check in later. Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning Kids,
Wow what a nice weekend we had. Did the usual cleaning and stuff but the weather was beautiful.
Peach, go to the dollar store, you'll find nice stuff there. There's one right on 202 by my home, its by the KFC and on the other side of the street there's a DE Jones which is cheep too.
Jim built Grace a swing yesterday it cost a whoppin $35.00 compaired to the $300.00 - $1,000.00 for a set in the stores...can you imagine. Gracie will have to wait for a full set (a loooong time lololol) unless daddy builds one.
Anyway its going to be crazy here the next few weeks. Have a great day !
Love, Leens
PS I got the pict back anybody want them just let me know and I'll email them to you...use my work addy please.

Good morning to all my friends. We are a busy bunch for a Monday morning.
peachie, wish I could go teacher gift shopping with you and your Mom. I love bargains. I was telling my daughter the other day we needed to hit the second hand stores for cheap clothes. I plan to be going through sizes so quickly it would be a waste of money to buy new, even at Wal-Mart. Well, that's my plan anyway (to go through sizes quickly.)
Jo, congrats on the pounds and inches lost.......WAY TO GO!!!! And as for the daughter, I have one of that species too (teenage daughter) she can drive me bonkers one minute and the next I could just cover her with kisses. But, theres nothing like a daughter.
dottie it's great to see you posting agian.
Not much on the menu for today. Hubby took the checkbook with him again today, mumbled something about writing bills. I hate when he takes the checkbook, I feel stranded. But our good friend peachie reminded me, just take another book of checks, who cares if their out of order. Boy, I can learn a few tricks from that girl!! LOL
Have a good one friends!

gooooood morning!!!
this'll have to be a quickie... mom's up, and sort of moving, so she stands a good chance of being ready when peachie gets here..
debkay... i always get a little, well, MOIST when i see you posting!!! it's so incredibly wonderful to have you back!!
i talked with a friend about the clothes thing last night. he said that i should buy something in every size, but i'd rather just buy every other size. at least, when peachie starts yelling at me, it's generally because i've gone down 2 sizes. isn't it great to have a nagging sister???? !!!!!!
and THEN, since peachie's doing so incredibly well at WW, i can look forward to some of HER clothes, too!!
what else? can't think of much. lunch is packed. have had the protein shake. need to fill up a water bottle. v8 and premade protein shake are in the car. and diet lemonade.
i guess i'm about ready to go. hoping to get a weight today or tomorrow.
and ruth, you're so luck, even with all that racket !!!!! i've seen an occasional loon, but they're just passing through. but down on the delaware bay, the western side of cape may county, i once stood there for about a half hour watching a loon fish right off shore! he came up with little fish, and was very happy. but i started giggling when he came up with a crab!!! i didn't know they ate crabs!!!
and congrats on all the gardens starting to produce!!!
and jo, you are really rocking here! can you send some of that energy here?
dottie.. i'm so very glad you're back.
have a great day ya'll... [that's for you, scooby. the ya'll i mean..]

WOW
I was so proud of myself this morning. I got up at 7:00 and now I had a few minutes,so I was going to post early. And what happens, looks like everyone has beat me to it AGAIN.... Oh well, I'm just a sleppyhead, what can I say.
I had a great weekend. Our churches VBS starts tonight and my grandson is coming with us. They have really worked hard on this years VBS. They have taken the classrooms and "redecorated" them to look like real Bible times scenes. I know the kids are going to love it.
My oldest (GS's dad)& DIL came to youngest house to swim. We stopped by (2 doors down from us) after chruch & had supper with them. I really can't explain the feelings I had as I sat out there and watched my two "babies"(both about 6'2", 250 pounds) playing in the pool and baby Nathan (4) trying to do everything they did. So JO & Debkay, hang in there there is hope for life after teenagers. When they were teenage, we didn't know if we would make it, and it was suprising they didn't kill each other, now they are human.
Jiff & Debkay: I've finally talked DH into going to the support group meeting for his surgeon. It's Thursday nigtht. They have a clothes exchange at every few meetings where people bring their outgrown clothes and the ones who are into that size takes them and brings others, etc. It will be interesting to say the least.
Well, I'm trying a new class at the health club today. It' advertised as a 50+ walking class, but the people in it say they do a lot of things besides walk. I'm not sure I will be able to do it, since I still have one bad knee. but I'm going to try.
If anyone follows me, don't be shocked that I posted before night. It was a fluke of nature. Also, ignore and typo's as not only is it early, I don't have on my glasses yet!

Good moring you early birds!
Sun is shinging and it promises to be a scorcher today! Went to my local garden center this moring and got some perrenials to put in my front beds now that the tulips are dead. Ruth, I haven't even finished my garden and I don't think I will because of the short grow season. My tomatoes are way behind but what can I do?
Well now you can all have a giggle--I did a major decorating faux pas yesterday. Prepared the walls in the entry way to be primed and painted--they were in very bad shape. Went downstairs to get some primer, had it on the walls about half done and suddenly realized--it was oil based primer! SIGH....So now I have a lovely colour to go on the walls but it's latex and no extra $$ to buy some oil paint! I told dh it's a happy accident anyway since it is a high traffic area and the walls are always dirty. The oil paint will protect the walls better. Dh didn't see it that way--money wasted. Ok ok so I'm the eternal optimist!
Rachel, hope your dd had a wonerful time with her friend over! Not everyday a wee one turns 3 ya know!
ageoldie, glad your dh is going to go to support groups--a change of life is difficult enough to do, never mind alone!
jiff, I also shop at discount shops and Value Village (do you guys have that in the states?) becasue I can't rationalize buying clothes that aren't going to fit me ina few months.
debkay, I also feel naked without my checkbook, I guess the illusion of control?
Leens, I hear ya on the cost of swings! Crazy isn't it?
Peach, I'm seconding and thirding the different options for teacher's gifts, lovely candles would ge an excellent choice!
Dottie, joanne, L and all those to come!

Sunday morning, the robins, orioles and, it seemed, every other bird specie was sitting in the trees by our bedrooms windows singing at 4:30! We had all four windows in the bedroom open(Remember it's a big old farmhouse!) I couldnt hardly sleep so I came into the living room, but it was just as noisey.
Am I silly! In Spring I can't wait to see the robins and then I complain that they are keeping me awake.
My GD has turned thirteen and is becoming a complete *itch! Her mother is ready to beat her I told her mom that she is in for at least five more years of plain, unadultrated ****! Yesterday, I went over and chewed the child out for being rude on the phone. When I got done with her, she could hardly walk a straight line. Can you tell I raised a daughter??
Well, am off to clean the house a bit and plan for tomorrow. DH and I are buying the flooring for the living room and bedroom.
Have a good day everyone and take care!

Happy Monday!!
Wow, this might be a first!! I had a good day at work today. Alert the press!! The woes are pretty much behind me, I hope they continue to stay that way. The bosses are starting to see things my way, instead of the altered view of my supervisor. Hmmmmmm. . . .
I had a very o/p day also, which is amazing! I found this neat drink at the Family Dollar store, of all places. Water that's flavored with strawberry, black cherry, or peach & orange. No caffeine, calories, carbs, nothing! It's pretty yummy and cheap! 50 cents for 33 ounce bottle, not too shabby!
Ya'll have a wonderful day, I'm off to cook squash and chop cucumbers. Not from my garden, but my neighbor has a green thumb. Talk to ya'll later!
