Who are your fashion inspiration?

List your fashion inspirations! Could be people/designers/anything really!

The celebrities whose style I like the most are Olivia Palermo, Alexis Bledel and Kate Middleton.
I also love Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy.

I like Nicole Ritchie, I'm into the bohemian vintage girly vibe.

Cate Blanchett - Stunning effortless and daring

Charlize Theron - I love her femme fatale gutsiness

Diane Keaton - I wouldn't dress like her but I love how she has her own look that's completely different than the usual female sex appeal.

Brigitte Bardot - Oh my gosh if I could look like anyone! I love her girly-with-a-hard-edge look that oozes erotic appeal

And of course there are the style icons that I totally dislike like the Kardashians, J-Lo, Beyonce - their style is nothing more than smoke in mirrors, clothes that are tight as possible and as expensive as possible.

Oprah for sure. She can DRESS!

I have no idea. If you saw my wardrobe you might guess Audrey Hepburn. I wear mostly black, lots of leggings and skinny jeans, plain t shirts, comfy sweaters, minimal accessories, flat shoes. Nothing too trendy.

I love the style of young British actors, but I also love London street fashion, so they kind of go in hand.

My absolute favorite for sheer "I dont give a toss" style is Helena Bonham Carter. I love her! I wouldn't dress that way, but I love it.

I LOVE Taylor Swift street style. I mean I don't have Swifty legs or midriff so I may not go as short in the skirt as she sometimes does or bare my middle, but I really like her aesthetic. I think it's pretty, girly but not too frilly or fussy, and yet still very classic and timeless.

I also REALLY like Olivia Palermo's style, particularly with the blazers and jeans and the layering. And the classic American Sportswear vibe she gives off.

I'm a huge fan of Lauren Conrad's looks with basic, timeless, classics but in a very put together sort of way.

I like the classic, preppy, timeless look. I like heels and flats equally and I would say I like a good t-shirt or tank top, but I never wear them on their own, always layered with a cool blazer or jacket or cardigan over it for pizazz and these lovely ladies I've mentioned share that aesthetic.

I love Kate Middleton's elegance and put togetherness, but I would have to say I am a bit more bohemian than that. It's hard to say because I do not follow many celebrities, but I always like the way that Drew Barrymore looks. I just think she is such a natural beauty and that is what I gravitate towards.

Oh, I can't forget Olivia Pope. I swear everything she wears on Scandal is something I'd wear. Gorgeous.

I really admire all the ladies you guys mentioned, but for me, the biggest inspiration is the store Anthropologie. I absolutely LOVE it and I have to be careful and not go in there too often. A very close second is Free People.

mirax3 11-13-2014 01:43 PM

Me too luckymommy! Oh my goodness, Free People especially is sooo dangerous for me. If I could just have a wardrobe from one place it would easily be Free People. Too bad I'm broke. :P

Palestrina 11-13-2014 02:25 PM

toastedsmoke, I'm right there with you about Olivia Palermo!

I wear a lot of Free People and Anthropology. They have a surprising amount of clothing that fits me.

I love how Jennifer Lawrence dresses! I also look on Joe Browns a lot for inspiration - when I hit goal I want to celebrate by buying practically a whole wardrobe from them XD

I love vintage clothing

I like vintage clothes. 1930's and 1950's dresses. Cloche hats.
Paul Poiret's dresses.
The best Costume Design I've seen in the movies lately is in Korean historical (about 1930's) drama Capital Scandal. Designer has done an outstanding job. Men's clothes are very daring. Lot's of bold colors.
Recommend:)

I love Reese Witherspoon's style. :)

I'm another fan of Kate Middleton. I like dresses more than pants, wear minimal, simple accessories for the most part but occasionally go with some vintage chunky stuff. I love classic cotton dresses with full skirts inspired by the 40's-60's, nothing too trendy, always tea length.

I don't buy shoes much (tight budget) but I like Mary Janes with rounded toes for heals (I do own one pair, black) and mary jane flats, new Keds (don't actually own these...but want to! In red and yellow, please!!!)

On the weekend, if I'm not going anywere, I wear sneakers, bib overalls, and a bright tee shirt.

I own a ton of 2nd hand cardigans. I wear some kind of cardigan sweater with nearly every outfit I have. I like classic cuts, not the weird cut ones.

nickilaughs 05-06-2015 03:34 PM

I have no fashion style. I wear yoga pants and shirts, jeans if I'm feeling fancy.
On the plus side I bought an express dress, I had to go down to medium because the large was too big!

I like Blake lively and I'll second Jennifer Lawrence!
