Default Clothes you love that are TOO BIG!

Since I've lost a good deal of weight (& have more to go, unfortunately!) I have donated many clothes to Goodwill or given to friends, etc. Especially just regular ol'boring clothes, or those clothes I used to wear to "cover up the chub" ...

However, there are SOME clothes I have that are just SO DANG COOL! - even tho they're "too big" I still want to wear them! - so I have been having a LOT of stuff altered, and some stuff that can't really be altered for one reason or another, I just wear it "too big" cause I'm not willing to let it go just yet!

Anybody else?

I do too. for example, I have a leather trench coat which is too big. It is cannot be altered... sigh. so, I have to donate it next year.

I have a lovely purple silk blazer that was too big. I crossed my finger and washed and dried it and it now fits! Whew!

I have a lovely light top from Forever 21's plus size section that I wore until the dang thing was just too big for me to wear (I wore it across 60lbs I think!). It did actually look quite nice with a tank underneath it and I wore it off the shoulder.

I had a pretty top from Torrid that I loved too. I got to wear it a while because it was a size 0 top (so the equivalent of a L or XL) and my shoulders are quite broad. After a while though I couldn't. I was going to put it in my pile of Torrid clothes I was going to sell, but my mother wanted it so I gave it to her.

I have a gorgeous halter top tie dye (grey and white) dress that is just super comfy and stylish. It is waaay too big so I'm going to have it altered. Not a bad problem to have though!

Yes! I have a wool trenchcoat that I LOVE but it just looks ridiculous now . Same goes for a black eyelet skirt. I should really have them altered. I can't bear to let them go!

I have a mermaid skirt that I loved but no longer have the shape that it flattered so well. I am gonna turn it into a summer dress.

Last night I was going thru attic stuff & found a BUNCH of swim suits I've never worn! - Swim suits that I bought the LAST time I lost weight (2006) at the end of the summer (sale!!!! bonus!!!!!) - still had tags on them!!! -but then I gained weight & couldn't wear them in 2007, nor 2008, 2009, 10, 11.... you get the picture

Anyway, I tried them all on.... THEY FIT!!!! All except a couple (which I totally believe are "mis-sized" cause seriously.. I'd have to lose another 25-30 lb to fit in them!) and three of them were TOO BIG!!!

So I took those to my friend/seamstress & she is going to alter them. YAY YAY YAY!!!! One is a "joe boxer" - it's black/white zebra stripe with a blue border on the edges... just such a GREAT SUIT! - I can't wait to wear it this summer!!!!

Oh, did I say.... YAY!!!!!!

Default Yay!

Yay for you! I went through my storage bins and space bags and have found a few things that I stored that were too small for me when I had gained weight. My suggestion is for the things that you really love that are either too big or too small to put them in the space bags and store them. I don't mean everything, just the things that you love or the really expensive clothes. That way you will have a few things either way of gaining or losing. Love the feeling of getting back into smaller clothes that I had outgrown!

Oh, did I say.... YAY!!!!!! [/QUOTE]

I think I'm going to need an "altered" pile too. A few months ago I bought a bunch of colored skinny jeans. I'm still the same weight, but I've lost inches...so they're all too big.

It's only a size or two, so I should be able to alter them. They fit my legs, just not my hips.

I recently gave my old favorites to a friend. And now, one of my other friends is giving me the jeans they've shrunken out of... things are working out!

ALL of my clothes =D....I'm really not willing to part with them yet. Last time I did a donating to goodwill/giving way clothes, I was 50 pounds heavier xD and I didn't get rid of all of them because I still love my heavy clothes. With the exception of a few pairs of pants my clothes are just to big but I won't pay to alter anything until I tone up. I know my body is going to be totally different a year from now and I don't want to realter them again xD

I have a few things. I'm giving most of them away. Actually today I realised the trousers that I'm wearing are pretty lose, and then I remembered that they were nearly way too tight and that was part of my breaking point. So I've been delighted with that today

Most of my clothes come from second hand shops, so I'm happy to give them back and get more as I get bored easily anyway. I have a sewing machine so I could alter some things myself if it's simple.

I have a lot of clothes that I've just given away. I'm trying to change my style as I'm getting smaller so I don't need to keep the clothes I loved. I more and more want a sophisticated but fun style and I know my old clothes wouldn't give me that look if they are baggy! <3
