Are you guilty of wearing clothes that are still too small?

Thank you so much Sum... Yep.... I was in bad shape in so many ways. So sad I let it go so far, but I can make sure it never happens again!

I'm guilty of the clothes to small. I have a very hour glass shape, meaning if a hoodie is to small, it likes to ride up because my waist is so much smaller than my hips. It ends up looking like one of those mini jackets and looks HORRIBLE. This also happens with pants if they are to loose. However, I never ever let my muffin top show really bad. If my pants are tight on me and I have bad muffin top happening, I wear a flared shirt or something else that covers it.
I can't wait for the day where I can wear ANY SHIRT with ANY PAIR OF PANTS and not have to match outfits based on how much my stomach/muffin top hangs out.

The problem could also be body shape. I have to find jeans that go OVER my belly button and are a size too big because my stomach looks like I have a natural "muffin top". It is like a sideways butt seriously unflattering..
Anything that rests at my bellybutton or lower, regardless of the fit, makes it look horrible. I have some spanx that flattens it ok.. I just think it is hot and uncomfortable.
I was hoping the last couple of pounds would fix this problem but most likely I'll be looking into getting it fixed.

I thought about this thread last night as I went to grab my size 12 jeans knowing full well I have a little muffin overflow when I wear them. I opted for the 14's that fit perfectly.
Just wanted to say thanks LOL

Probably a wise choice. People tent to think a shirt will covere up a muffin top. No it doesn't. Maybe if you stand completely still, completely straight, then maybe. But. Soon as we get moving and bending, etc, those shirts show all.
Now, if that doesn't bother you or it bothers, thn who cares, but I think a lot of people get a false sense of "it's disguised". When it's not.
I have to share the opposite problem with you all though. My son who is 15 is super skinny. He's a bit over 6'1" tall and weighs 135 pounds. I can't find jeans skinny and long enough for him without busting the bank (needs a 28 waist and 34 length) so he should have to belt things. No... He doesn't bother with a belt.. He does his skinny boy version jeans hanging low with his 29/30 by 34 pants. He just covers up the exposed undies with his long shirts. His pants are usually being held up by his low hips only. It looks so utterly ridiculous when he lifts up his arms and exposes the top 5 inches of his boxers.
Oh to have such a problem, eh?

Melissa, my son has the same problem. He does wear a belt tho. My husband is really fit as well, and since he went gluten free, he lost 10 pounds and all of his clothes just hang on him.
My DD started having small belly, and her clothes got tight. She went off gluten as well, and her tiny muffin top is gone and she is back to regular clothing.

And the whole idea of "muffin top"-- is our language not complete without someone coming up with yet another word for things that women should hate about their bodies? I mean, really--why? Does it make folks feel better to put other people down?

Oh, honey, surely it isn't meant in a mean catty way. I have to say, I work in an office complex that houses 4 buildings, all connected by an indoor catwalk. I see ages, shapes, sizes. Sometimes I see older girls dressing like they are 20 y.o. at a club to pick up a one night stand - boobs shoved together and literally overflowing their shirt, with a skirt short enough to see pubic hair, and do me heals. Office appropriate? No. Hair and makeup to match. There is no question that lady knew exactly how she was going to dress and make her self up that morning to come to work. Then there are others who are either in denial or cannot afford to buy something that fits, and those are the ones I have to ask myself "does she NOT own a mirror?" I would be hard pressed to wear something so skin tight that every roll, lump, bump would be visible, and if I HAD to wear those items b/c I was broke....I'd wear a scarf to at least hide behind something. I know I'm no fashion horse, but I would not be caught dead exposing my top or bottom, nor would I squeeze my 167.5 pounds of pork into a 100 pound sack!
To each his/her own....but inappropriate is inappropriate...and people will look and draw a conclusion. Maybe not a judgment, but a conclusion.

Well it has a lot to do with body shape. I wear a size 10 cause it fits my waist however I have VERY muscular legs. If I wore a size 12, even with a belt it's baggy in my butt, loose on the waist but the legs fit. So I wear a 10 cause it fits my waist, fitted on my legs and fits my butt. Do I still have a muffin top, yes I do, not because the pants are tight but that's simply because where I carry ALL MY WEIGHT! I have a muffin top no matter what size I wear! So I totally get what your saying, just cause it zips up doesn't means it fits, but maybe it does fit and you just don't know? Clothing covers up a ALOT you wouldn't be able to tell unless they were naked in front of you! Unless we each can afford our clothing to be custom made, there are compromises that have to be made.
Here in this pic you can see my muffin top but my waist fits perfectly and so does my butt. If I wore a 12 or a 14 it's so saggy in the butt it's pretty horrible looking!

InsideMe I'm the same way. Actually, if I wear too big pants then they just fall down and it shows my built-in muffin top anyways. If I wear a belt tight enough to keep pants up, it gives me a muffin top. There's really no way to win.
