Default Does anyone else find 5' 6" an awkward height for pant length?

Tall or Long sizes are too long, and of course Petite is way too short. I know I could get my pants tailored, but until I reach goal, I'm not investing a lot of money in my wardrobe. I'm just really trying to see if it's just me, or if those around my height face the same pant length dilemma?

What is your inseam ? That is what is important. Have you tried regular length ?

I think I know what you mean. For me though it depends on the brand. On some brands regulars are just a tad too short on me but longs are too long. I usually just get longs and roll them up once or let them be alittle baggy at the bottom. (my style is kind of slouchy anyway at the moment)
some brands though fit just right for me. the thing is though its more the inseam than the height of the person. if you have shorter legs but a longer torso you may fit shorts but be 5'6"

Oops, I should have made myself more clear. Yes, regular is what I generally buy, but they seem too short as well. I have a 30 inch inseam, which should be regular. I guess a large part of my problem may be that I carry much of my weight in my thighs.

Levis are pretty much my go-to brand, but I do like Maurices for cheap jeans during weight loss. What's your inseam, hilariousness?

I'm 5'7. When I was growing up, {before long, regular, short pants became mainstream} I felt all my pants legs were too short. Then they came out with the length sizing and I was overjoyed. Funny thing, I used to be able to wear the long sizes, but lately I find they are too long and I'm back to the regular. Weird. I may start trying the 'longs' again because I feel the last pair I bought could be longer.

Penguin, what's your usual brand? Do you know your inseam? I totally get what you mean. Seems like there are a lot of factors going on here--inseam, body shape, brand, etc.

I'm also between 5'6" and 5'7" and I also find that regular lengths are often too short, and talls are often too long.

I can get away with a 30" inseam, but hate anything shorter. I prefer 32." I've found that talls usually can fall anywhere from 32" to 36."

Yes! I find this a problem too. Most pants are too long but short size or petite are too short.

All of my regular-length jeans are always too long (and short-length just barely covers my ankles). It's like they expect me to always wear heels with them, which I never do. I would love to own jeans that aren't always dragging on the floor, getting dirty/wet, and threatening to trip me at any given moment. Also, don't regular jeans have a 32" inseam, while petite is 30" and long is usually 34" (but sometimes 36")? Those are usually the measurements for my jeans brand (Old Navy)?

Whatever I find a Ross or Walmart that fits and is under
$20! My most recent purchase was JMS Classic stretch Bootleg, which I like. I have thick legs so I can't wear anything that tapers, I have a flat butt, big waist and medium thighs so anything that comes near to fitting all four is good.

If you're just looking for cheap jeans, buy them in the men's dept. at Wal-Mart. You can buy your waist size and inseam length. I have several pairs, they look fine on and are tough as iron! They're $9/pair here.

I have a 30" inseam, am 5'6" and I find most regulars to be a tad too long. I usually just roll them up with sneakers and the length is fine with a heeled shoe. I can't wear petites, as the rise is too short.

What's weird to me, is I only have this problem with jeans. Other pants aren't a problem.

I'm 5', but have a very short inseam, so even petites are too long, so i understand your problem lol.
