Bra rant! Need help
Ok, pre-weightloss I was about a 38DD. Now I've lost some weight but just my ribcage and haven't lost anything off my cup size yet.
I tried on some 36DD and the band feels great but my boobs can't fit into the cup.
I went and tried on the 38DD and the band is just too big, it droops in the back and isn't tight enough under my boobs to offer any support.
But I can't find any 36DDD bra's anywhere local. The only sizes they have that are DDD are 40"+ band sizes.
So I feel like I am doing something wrong??? Why is it an impossible size to find?? I see people everyday with bigger boobies than me!!
The problem is I don't want to spend 50 bucks on a bra right now when I am still losing. Is there anywhere on the cheap side that would sell my size??
Thanks!

Have you thought about wearing a sports type bra?

Where do you live? Do you have Nordstrom's nearby?
I'm someone who has to buy all of my bras online (I wear a 30GG/H). I have a list of resources internationally where you can buy bras online (and for way less than $50 each at times...). If you live in Canada Butterfly Collection will do free bra fitting over skype.
Do you know what your measurements are? You can either post them here and I can try and help you on sizing or check out the forum http://thirty-twod.livejournal.com/ and you can also get sizing help there and there might be someone who can help you locally too.

A sports bra is pretty unlikely to be helpful. I'm at the same size now, and a supportive sports bra in a 36DDD is going to be $45 or so. Kohls, and Bali Bras. I particularly like the "Live it up" Full figured Underwire bra. They're comfortable for everyday wear and look nice enough (not industrial). For pretty colors, I sometimes wander into the other Bali lines, but they only make the nice colors in minimizers in a 36DDD.
They're usually $36 each, but it's pretty common to find them on sale. (Currently 2 for $54). If you don't have a Kohls near you, or your Kohls doesn't stock that size you can order online.

I would go to Nordstrom or Bloomingdales and let a professional fit you and try to find you something. I'm was a 38 DDD last time they measured and they found me a great one at Bloomingdales.

Ditto and no stores around here sell anything that fits. even the local Bali outlet was useless. There are great websites with tips on fitting bras but none of them really seem to get the weight loss issue. They did help get me in the right ballpark though.
I started at a 42 F-ish, now I'm wearing a 32DD - 32DDD depending on the style and fit. Unless you are in a major metropolitan area that means ordering online, definitely a drag when the style changes the fit.

Just My Size carries a lot of 36DDD bras and they are always running sales. They've got some Playtex bras on sale right now that come in 36DDD for $15.99.

You can find a really great list of reviews on some of the best sports bras for DD+ cups here. Just scroll down to the bottom of the post and you can find the links to the reviews (it's a series and they're still posting more).
I'm hoping to try the Freya underwired sports bra soon (check out ebay UK, I know it's listed as about $40 there...), although you might be able to find some for even cheaper on either brastop or figleaves (check for sales and coupons). You don't pay any custom charges for orders under $200...

I've said it before, have you tried Lane Bryant? They have lots of styles in DDD. My favorite is the Balconette. I started at a 42DDD, now a 40F (although I measure 38DDD)
Good luck - DDDs are not always easy to hold up.

I'm a 32DDD/F and Norstrom is the ONLY local place I have found bras with good prices. They often have sales for around $40/bra and they have the hard to find sizes in the stores and a great return policy if you want to order online.
