Default Suddenly breaking out?

I've always had good skin, with only a few breakouts! Suddenly I am breaking out way more and the only things that I have changed are my diet and exercise!

Anyone have any insight to this/tips for how they keep their skin under control?

Thanks!

Could you be ovulating/having your TOM? I know for me if I get pimples it's always hormone related.

I always used clearasil during bad breakouts as a teen. If you're really concerned you could always contact a dermatologist (if the breakout is really bad).

This same thing happened to me. I think it was part sweat from exercise/new diet purging body of bad stuff/hormones changing with age. Not that I'm old or anything (I'm 32) just things changing. It's annoying and now I can feel for my friends in high school who had to deal with this! I don't really manage it with anything in particular except really keep up on your water and never go to bed with you make-up on. Good luck!

That happens to me from time to time. I just increase my water and eat only whole foods for a couple of days until it passes.

I am also a huge fan of Body Shops Tea Tree Oil face washes and Aloe line moisturizers. They are very gentle.

You can definitely break out as part of a cleansing purge when changing your diet and exercise. The good part is that after a while your skin will look better than ever!

Thanks for your help guys I'm hoping its just sweat + toxins coming out! It just crappy to wake up and have to conceal your entire face haha, though it does look much better today already

I have lived with cystic 'guy-type' acne my entire life. I'm now an adult (25 years old) and here's how I've gotten it under control:

- Change your pillowcases 3 times per week. I'm not kidding!!! This has been the BIGGEST HELP in managing zits for me! Coming up on my TOM I change them NIGHTLY and whatever zits I get will fade away much quicker, otherwise they hang around and any sores I get from picking will NOT HEAL until I've changed the pillowcase! I always shower before bed and pull my hair back so that my hair and any residues from washing it don't touch my face (or touch it as little as possible).

- Splash water on your face frequently during exercise, if you can. Wash your face immediately AFTER exercise and then an hour later (you'll still sweat while your body is cooling down, if you're like me). Don't do this if you're using a heavy-duty facial cleanser with Salycilic Acid or Benzoyl Peroxide--I use Cetaphil. Make sure to wash your face before bed!

- Clean your makeup brushes once per week, especially around TOM!

- Moisturize with a non-SPF lotion after you shower. I use Oil of Olay 'beauty fluid,' it's very lightweight and not greasy. I find SPF lotions way too greasy. I won't always moisturize after my post-workout face-wash because I find that my skin oils come back up to the surface pretty quickly, so I leave it until my nighttime shower.

If I slack off around my TOM and get breakouts, I change my pillowcase and clean my makeup brushes and my zits are gone in a week.

Thanks for all of these tips! I have always had bad acne... I will give these a go! Nothing seems to work!
