Default What is the most awesome compliment you have ever gotten?

...tangent of another thread.

My most awesome? From a young new mom who used to be my kids babysitter: "I strive to be as great of a mom as you. When I question myself as a mom, I ask, 'What would fitness4life do?'."

Fitness-wise? From a client recently, "I look at the fitness instructors here and I picked your class because obviously, just looking at your arm and shoulder definition, you know what you're doing, you do what you're teaching and have no idea how great you look because your personality is not ego-centric."

OK, not in person egocentric, but in an anonymous forum? Yes, I'll pat myself on the back.

Here's your chance to pat yourself on the back! Celebrate YOU!

Mine was from my husband-he said two things that really meant a lot to me. He said "I'm so proud of you for sticking to this-I can tell you have so much more confidence in yourself." And the other one was "you look fantastic"

"I hadn't really noticed just how much weight you'd lost, until my husband said how great you're looking. I just had to tell you that he's right!"

(for clarification, I've known her husband my entire life, but I still found it awesome!)

Lately people around me have used terms like "tiny" and "small" and "thin". They are wonderful compliments that I hope sink into my brain soon. I still have 10 more pounds to go and all of that is sitting on my thighs! But I do eat up compliments from family that tell me how proud they are of me because frankly, I am pretty darned proud of me too!

A guy at the gym on Friday (he gives me strength training pointers) said to me I was "an attractive woman" and he turned red in the face afterwards so I know it was genuine. That was sweet. And I got his phone number before he left. Ha! (Too bad I'm not interested)

But the biggest compliment I ever received lately was from myself. I used my newly found strong and confident womanhood when it came to a boy situation. I will NOT roll over out of insecurity ever again! Kudos to me!

I was in the lingerie dept of store and a man (not bad looking and a bit older than myself) started walking towards me from about 30 feet away. I assumed he was going to ask if I knew where the restrooms were or something. He came up to me and said "I hope you don't think I'm being too forward and I mean this with all due respect, but I just wanted to say you are one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen." I think I'm decent enough looking, but that floored me. I stammered a thank you,and he wished me a good day and walked away, leaving me clutching my new black lace thong undies!

Friends, Family have been saying it

"you look really happy"

This means the world to me because I know before getting to a happy weight required sacrifice, deprivation and misery but this time around I didn't feel miserable at all. I felt liberated, proud and happy.

One of my favorite compliments came from a guy in college. We had a Wednesday class together and after we started talking he said that he woke up on Wednesday to come to class just to see me. Sigh...too bad he ended up being a total douchebag - LOL!!

Hearing "You're so skinny" (said in a nice context) or "You have such a nice figure" from perfect strangers like dressing room attendants and people like that. These people have no idea I was fat and they think I'm skinny...not compared to how I used to look... but just skinny by today's standards.

Best compliments ever! :-)

From my doctor whose practice emphasizes weight loss (not why I went to her). She's never had a patient lose as much weight as I have and she's absolutely thrilled about it even though I had never even asked her about it and ignored her hints when she'd give me weight loss literature.

You guys' weight loss is amazing!

One of the best compliments I've gotten lately was from a woman I was buying nutrisystem from. She looked me up and down and said " you don't need nutrisystem". That made me feel so good, even though I still had 20lbs to lose (at the time) to get to my goal weight. And my goal weight is even on the high end for my height!

I was walking, no make up, sweaty..hawt right? haha!
I hear running behind me, so I kinda prepare myself (cause it's sad but you never know if it's a crazy preson )
Anyways this blond hottie all tanned, taps me on the shoulder, and for a moment I thought I dropped my wallet.
He smiles and said " I never EVER do this. I swear I'm not crazy...but do you want to grab a coffee and talk? I think you look pretty"
I had to blink a few times...I told him I was married, but thanks. He looked a little sad and said "I should have known you had someone. Take care!" and ran back to his car.

Retro, that's like an unheard of thing that only happens in movies!

Ya know, it's always the married girl that gets that. Or the short girl who gets the tall guy (I'm 5'10" and my ex is 5'8". My bf is 5'10" - I've only had 2 taller bfs in my 41 year history and they both broke my heart) or the rich guy who's a total d-bag, etc.

Good for you!!! In so many ways! Your husband should be proud.
