I want my gym clothes to look good. Simply because I want to look my best at all times. Now, do they look good at the moment? No. While I'm going through the weight loss process, it's a waste to spend a lot of money on clothes because they will not fit me any longer when I reach my target.

I have some old navy foldover yoga capris that are pretty comfy, though now that they are getting a lot of wear the fabric is getting a little rough and itchy. (My skin is super sensitive too which probably doesn't help.) And I have a few pima cotton Danskin shirts that I've had forever that hold up amazingly well so still look decent.
For my 25 lb reward though I got a shirt and capris from nike. Bless them for having a decent plus size activewear selection even if it's not cheap. Yeah I still have a lot of weight to lose but it's going to take a while, and in the meantime I'm at the gym 6 days a week ideally. I still wear the other stuff, but the super breathable shirt is nice for certain things. It helps that it's cute but really it was more about comfort.

For a reward when I lost 1.5 stone (28lb), I treated myself to new workout clothes. They're by Elle Sports so they are stylish, but I bought them cheaper from a discount shop because I haven't reached my goal yet and don't want to spend too much on my 'in between' clothes.

i know this is going to sound really horrible, but i buy lululemon work out clothing, that i am comfortable in (it just so happens that lulu seems to be stylish). since i started doing bikram, my body has toned, and i am more comfortable in it. i have about 8 good bikram 'acceptable' (read: comfortable to sweat in) peices, that i rotate around. i do have 2 solid outfits, and an expensive baktuli towel as well, but i try to keep them rotated around with older, not so pretty peices. i feel as though you are pouring hard work into gym time, especially for those people trying to seriously lose weight, why not look great? while some stylish stuff like lululemon is VERY expensive, i feel that it is deffinately worth it. size wise, it will shrink/grow with you, and you will feel very comfortable in it.
in fact, doing bikram, i have lost a tonne of inches and i find that i have no desire to buy clothes until i feel like the process is complete, but i DO have an intense desire to have properly fitting clothing to work out in (especially because i spend so much time in the yoga studio. i guess its whatever you feel comfortable with.

About half of my workout shirts are slightly baggy t-shirts, and I mostly wear those because they keep me from concentrating on how fat I think I'd look in something tighter. The others are moderately stylish shirts made specifically for working out in (Nike and so on). As for bottoms, I have tons of Nike running shorts and running tights that I wear.
I definitely feel best about myself when I look nice and the gym is no exception. That being said, I do tend to pick the t-shirt over a more fitted top if I'm feeling bloated. Occasionally I make my outfits coordinate, and then I feel extra good, haha. I hope that before I go back up to school, where I go to the gym (at home I workout in my room, haha) I'll have lost more weight and can get some cute new workout clothes from lululemon.

Do you wear stylish stuff to gym? Do you care what you wear?

I don't belong to a gym. My gym is the great outdoors in the summer and my basement in the winter, lol. But to answer your question, when I started dropping some weight, I traded in my slumpy, ratty workout clothes for stylish new ones. I also bought them in that DRI-FIT material which is way better than the cotton stuff I was previously wearing. And you don't have to spend a fortune on them either. I bought mine at Target and Kohl's for not that much money. I think when you look good, it motivates you to continue exercising. I love putting on my pretty running shorts or nice new sports bra. It's my treat to myself for sticking with the program.
