If I go after work, I already have makeup on, I usually don't have the time to wash it all off before I go anyways.
However, on my days off I'll go in the morning I do admit to putting some powder on and mascara. I just feel better having it on.
This is what I love about my womens' gym. There is something very safe about working out there. It is a haven from being judged! Plus - they have a spa there. Nothing like a facial to get me to show up at the gym.

IDK if it's just me, or maybe we're blessed with awesome clients at my gym, but I don't think anyone is judging anyone else in the gym. I see people helping others who are new. I also see people who aren't new ask others for help. We fitness trainers instruct people, but are in no way being judgemental. Everyone there wants everyone else to be safe and successful.
Not saying this is you, but I think a major obstacle people have with gyms is this incorrect notion. I write this to encourage people to get over that hurdle and just show up regularly and soon that thought won't even be in your mind.
I LOVE makeup.. but when working out in the AM I don't put makeup on b/c im literally drenched and I just wont look all that attractive anyway with a sweaty *** n hair anyways lol... I think if you wake up early morning and you have insecurity or just want to look more awake then just add concealer n water proof mascara and that will make you look more awake
In the PM when i go to the gym, whatever I have from the day , I just leave it on and work out.. it will come off when im wiping off my sweat anyways
Well, even though I know it is quite a silly idea to wear makeup to the gym, I do it anyways. But, I use a whole lot less than I would on a regular basis. lol, I use foundation and powder and maybe just a very small amount of eyeliner, because I figure if I wore more than that, I'd end up looking like a racoon, lol.
But, as I said before, even though I wear makeup to the gym, I still think it's rather silly.
EDIT: @LA85 I never thought about using waterproof mascara, thanks for the tip!

I don't put makeup on before working out, but I totally think that feeling confident on one's appearance helps the workout session.
If putting makeup on makes you feel more confident, there is nothing wrong with that--it's just jealousy or nitpicking on your friend's part.
We women hate the girl who we think looks better than us. It's as if she is raising the bar for us all.
For example: It peeves me to see the girls who jog on the side of the road in only a sports bra and tiny, underwear sized shorts--or if they are doing yoga in my husband's yoga class in almost nothing ---! But really, it's my problem! (and putting makeup on before working out is nowhere near distracting as jogging in underwear). Most people probably don't even notice when people wear makeup during exercise.
Whatever boosts your confidence--and it isn't really anyone else's business what you put on your face.

No, "we women" do not. You do, apparently, but that's far from a universal and I think that's an incredibly misogynist opinion to be expressing.
From where I sit, the size of your butt and the appearance of your face are entirely unrelated to the size of my butt and the appearance of my face. Attractiveness and beauty are not zero-sum.
FWIW I run without makeup and I choose my running gear by function more than looks. "Function" includes shorts ("gym" not "bike") when it's above around 45 degrees, and bare arms above around 50. If you think I'm trying to appeal to your partner or to make you look bad in comparison, that's your issue, not mine.
When I go to the gym in the evenings I don't bother taking my makeup off. But if I'm going in the morning before I've had any makeup on, I will sometimes put some powder on my face. I just feel better with some foundation powder on when I'm walking through the gym doors. I know I sweat it off anyway, but it makes me feel a little more prepared. I always wear at least foundation when I am going out though, I feel my face is too red without it.
no, i don't wear makeup when I work out. Not at all. If I already have it on, i'll wash my face and then work out. Even mascara. Well i already wash my face so what's the point of keeping the mascara i mean.
And i'm the type of girls who cannot leave the house without makeup. Just not for working out - gym or not.
And last thing, I LOVE my red glowing face with whole lots of sweats after working out. It might just me but yeah, I just love love love it
No I don't wear makeup at the gym. I sweat so much that I wipe my face on the little towel I bring all the time. I would end up looking like a raccoon. I don't dress up either... If my hair is gross when I wake up I just put it up... hey its going to be nasty half way through my workout anyway. My clothes sometimes don't match and sometimes I forget to shave my legs.. LOL I go to the gym for me... not to look pleasant to everyone else.

I put on makeup in the morning to take my kids to school and then wash it off before going to the gym. I sweat so much that it would just look like a canvas painting that's been exposed to a rainstorm. Blech. I don't clean off my eye makeup (waterproof mascara and sometimes a little eyeliner) and I wear a colored lip gloss or lipstick because I feel naked without something on my lips.
