Wink I did something CRAZY!

Hey ladies....I was out shopping at Walmart today for some of those nice $4 tops...and I noticed they had a display of RED WHITE AND BLUE BIKINIS! Now being the patriot that I am...I HAD TO HAVE ONE! So I bought one. Tried it on when I got home; of course it doesn't support the DDD girls TOO well (better than I figured). And the bottoms (hence bikini I guess, I wouldn't know) are cut a little low. It actually looks pretty good, because I have very toned, and kinda flat upper abs. BUT it does allow a slight bit of lower belly protrusion (empty panniculus flap)...to stick out between the waistband and my belly button (this really is only slight, and it is not Hanging over the band...its just that its there). So ladies...SHOULD I WEAR IT IN PUBLIC? I only ask because I am obviously not exactly comfortable wearing a bikini...but I am not exactly uncomfortable. Do chubby women sometimes wear bikinis to the beach despite their chubbiness? Thanks for your thoughts ~Sara

I guess it depends how comfortable you are in your new body! You could always try it and bring a wrap if you feel uncomfortable!!

I wore a bikini to the beach at 165, between a size 10 and a size 12. I got hit on And there were DEFINITELY bigger girls than me there wearing bikinis.

I wear a bikini at the beach whenever I get there. Yes, at this weight.

But I do admit to bringing a wrap with me for when I'm walking around...

Wear it! I'm always super self conscious at first, but eventually you're enjoying yourself so much that it doesn't even matter! Plus, you've lost weight, show it off!

Believe me, weight is no obstacle to some of the women who wear bikinis here in Florida. We see all shapes and sizes. Actually, I think it's refreshing to see women that are comfortable showing their bodies even if they aren't a size 2. Go for it ... just remember that you may get a sunburn easily on body areas that have not recently seen the light of the sun! (Maybe that coverup will come in handy)l

I think I have the same bikini!

I'd say go ahead and wear it! I've seen girls
bigger than me in bikinis and I always think,
"I wish I had confidence like that!" Go ahead,
have a good time and wear it.

My boyfriend and I went for a walk on the boardwalk this weekend and a LOT of women were in bikinis of all different sizes and ages. If you're confident in your body - you've worked so hard to get where you are!! - you should be proud and show it off! And post a picture here too. I want to know what a patriotic bikini looks like! I wonder if Canada is selling red and white ones or if it is a World Cup thing Wal-Mart has introduced?

This is so true! I see women who are bigger than me wearing some amazing outfits, and I don't think 'oh no, she shouldn't wear that if she's a size X, or weighs xxxlbs', I think 'well, she looks great, so now, what's my problem that I don't have her self-confidence'.

I'm sure you will look amazing! And really, when was the last time you went to the beach to worry about what other people wore - they'll be too busy having fun to think disapproving thoughts anyway, right?

Go for it!!! I know some people who are way more confident than me, and they strut around in their bikinis like it's no big deal at all! I wish I were that confident... Oh well! I'm working on it! I say you wear that patriotic suit proudly, and show us some pictures of your cuteness!
