I use Sally Hansen hair removal cream on my mustache. I tried Nair and it actually darkened my skin in that area, I have a natural tan look so not sure if that's why it affected me this way. But its taken 3-4 yrs for the darkness to disappear. I have't had any issues with the Sally Hansen product. I have thought about doing a laser treatment, dh is very supportive about this especially since the whole Nair accident, he doesn't trust anything anymore.

I buy the ready to go wax strips, I like the nair ones. They used to have these natural-y ones that were like made of sugar or something that I REALLY liked, but they're discontinued.

Anyway, these ones you can buy at any drug store like Rite Aid or CVS. You just rub em between your hairs, peel em apart, and start waxing. I put baby powder on my lip so the wax doesn't stick to the skin, and wax the hair off. Then I put Tea Tree Oil on my lip to clean it and get the wax off. It works nicely.

I've heard bleaching works well, you can try that too.

Threading is nice too. You have to find a method that works for you. I know some people who HATE waxing but will thread eeeeeverything. And vice versa.

I personally love threading! It shouldn't hurt much at all if they're doing it right and the hair grows back in a more gentle matter. I've never tried cold wax but that just sounds like a mess! Plucking is much better than shaving too! When you shave, it doesn't get nearly as close as it could be. If you have a good pair of tweezers you should be able to pluck really really short hairs, so it shouldn't ever stop you from leaving the house! If you decide on waxing, the hair does need to grow a bit before you can effectively wax it off. Bleaching is a good way to get by a little longer while it's growing if you decide that you don't want to pluck.

Don't know what you did eventually but as someone that had tried all existing options for facial and body hair this is my feedback so far.

1. Don't shave if it is possible because if it irritates the skin and makes facial hair thicker.

2. Cold wax is a good solution as long as your skin is not hypersensitive. I had my hair removed with cold wax but my skin is really sensitive so it always resulted to irritation or zits.

3. Then it was hot wax. I used to wax my facial hair for four years and it is something you can do at a salon or by buying Nair and doing it at home. Hair should be done again between 14 days t0 a month regarding on how quickly your facial hair grow.

4. My current favourite, but a bit expensive solution, is laser hair removal. It is a bit painful at first but I have been doing it for 2 years now and I practically feel nothing this days. For me it is also seems more convinient because I used to wax my hair once a month, now I have my laser every 2 months, which is very good.

I have pretty fuzzy blond hair on my face that is definitely noticeable if you're close (and a couple darker ones in moles I got from sunburns, blech!). As I have gotten older/heavier, it's gotten heavier. I'm guessing hormone-related fun

But after trying shaving, which felt really odd and only lasted a short time, I got this inexpensive little battery-operated "Epilady"-like groomer that rips it out at the root like wax. It can hurt, depending on where you're using it, but it helps if you pull the skin tight as you move over it. It also helps if you just got out of a long hot shower - the hair comes out easier. Plus it lasts about 2 weeks before I notice it coming back.

I will look it up when I get home and post its name

p.s. Don't be embarrassed, you are definitely not alone, heh!

The Emjoi Epi Slim is what I use for my fuzzy face.

I am a wuss, but there is no way I would use it on my bikini line as it shows on the link, or my underarms. At least, the times I've tried that with a full-sized epilator, I ended up with blood blisters in my arm pits and a traumatized lower body I use a regular disposable razor for those bits.

Though I am thinking of trying salon professional waxing out of curiosity... The one time I tried to wax my own bikini line, I couldn't go through with it, and I cut the beeswax off. AGONY, I tell you!

Though the big Braun 5270 Silk-épil X'elle Body System Epilator is great for my legs.

But this little job gets the hairs off my chin & side burns thoroughly, and for that, I prize it

I get mine waxed at the salon. But no way would I have my armpits or bikini line waxed. OUCH! It does sting on my upper lip and occasionally I get blisters, but not often and I only get it done about every 4 weeks. My chin hairs I often just pluck with tweezers. I am dark skinned and had dark brown hair before it got so grey and dark brown eyes, so you know even a few facial hairs are gonna be dark...even when I was in my twenties I had it done.

I have the pink version of Berkshire's Braun epilator, I think it was about $35. It was the best purchase! I use it on my legs and my chin...I can't stand it anywhere else, toooo painful...but on my chin every other day or so. It is a life saver!
