Lane Bryant is too big for me.

Hi Nelie,
Thanks for the info. I would like to know the item number(s) from the VS site so I can see if it would work for me.

Lynx,
194-423 (Bra Top 3-pack)
210-724 (Ultimate tank with shelf bra) - This one is a bit thicker and ribbed
I just ordered but I imagine I'll have similar results the following:
3G-215-419 (Totally seemless Bra Top)

I dislike bras, also, but I'm quite small busted. I've been that way since I was young. I sometimes wear a full slip that doesn't bother me. I think bras are a rather recent invention.

You weight a little bit more than I do and you can find that those sizes fit? I guess I'll have to go into a local store and see if they have those sizes in stock and try them on. If so, then my ego is getting a boost and my credit card will take a small hit.

Well I don't think they carry them in the stores, I think clothes are an online/catalog thing only but I could be wrong.
I wear a size L misses shirt, I wear size XL fitted (non stretch) shirts.
Whatever size shirt you wear should be the exact same for VS.
Oh also, I wear a size L in VS panties. I think VS has the best panties ever actually. I don't think I could go to anything else after having tried theirs. They carry up to size XL in the store I believe.

Wikipedia has a long article on the bra. Here's a small part of it.
"Breasts were fine before the invention of the brassiere... This is similar to the myth that women supposedly need corsets to support their stomach muscles... wearing a bra... has no medical necessity whatsoever... Except for the women who find bras especially comfortable or uncomfortable, the decision to wear or not wear one is purely aesthetic — or emotional... If you don't enjoy it, and job or social pressures don't force you into it, don't bother... A mistaken popular belief maintains that wearing a bra strengthens your breasts and prevents their eventual sagging. But you sag because of the proportion of fat and tissue in your breasts, and no bra changes that... If you don't like wearing a bra, don't wear one." Dr Susan Love[31]

HOOOORRRRAAAYYY! I've always told people that a bra WILL NOT stop sagging. Some of my friends say that they'd freeze to death without one. I suggested a camisole if warmth was their concern.
I have to say, some blouses look better when I wear one. I won't wear one everyday because they are too blasted uncomfy.
Mine chesticles are still where they are supposed to be. They don't hang down, they just stare at my feet!
Since I've started losing weight, I no longer worry about getting a black eye whenever I go over a speed bump.

Junonia.com has some camis. Their stuff tends to be rather expensive, but extremely high quality. Sizes 14+

I disagree with the article...I believe that if you are a C cup or larger, that your breasts will have more sagging over time, if you go braless. It's gravity. An A or B cup can get away with it...but larger (more weight) breasts will sag with no support.
Of course, this causes no medical issues at all...just in looks. My SIL and I are both DDs, DDDs during pregnancy/nursing, and close in age. She goes braless a lot and sleeps braless. Mine have just a touch of sag...but hers are National Geographic sag. Her nipples are all the way down/pointing down now-instead of facing outward. We both started out about the same 10 years ago. (before kids, weight changes, etc.)
I even sleep in bras (comfy sleep ones) for support at night.

Actually I disagree with the "no medical issue" part.
I cant go braless or the sweat collects under there and starts to itch and then hello yeast infection. I need them to be lifted so the air gets underthere and the nice moisture wicking bra material takes the sweat away.
But besides that, it is so horridly uncomfortable for me to be without a bra - not to mention the awful flap flap flap flap SOUND when I go up and down stairs.
I put my bra on the second I get out of bed. I dont sleep in one, that I could never get used to...and the constant wearing of a bra tends to make the band area irritated for me.
