It was a great day. And it went sooo fast! I teared up a few times especially when my boys spoke and when my new out-law Pam spoke. I couldn't say the little speech I had in my head and I bawled while my husband was talking.
My daughter looked amazingly beautiful. The boys are among the worlds most handsome. And my husband mmmm mmmm mmmm.
I've got a fat head today too! Apparently I'm the hot mama of the bride
I'm happily tired and bone weary and plan to spend most of today resting and/or napping.
I'm not sure what's on the digital camera but I'll get scurrying around for film developing tomorrow and show ya.
Thanks so much for your prayers and good wishes. It was a blessed day that went awesomely well!

Hey gang, I'm back from Brussels and wow what a great trip. I honestly didn't do badly at all while I was there and saw so many beautiful things.

But now it's time to get back fully on track. I pulled up fitday and got my morning grapefruit entered and definitely want to hit my new The Firm series DVD's - a few weeks will be good before the real start of bathing suit season!

Here's a pic of me and my hubby at a wedding a few weeks ago. I worked hard to get myself into that navy cocktail dress which you can't see very well in this pic, but I can almost feel the confidence in the photo I felt that night feeling just really good. :-)

Cindy, you look so cute in that dress! Look at your shoulders and collarbones! Wow! Yep, you can tell that some serious work went into getting in shape.

Hope you don't mind but I changed the tags on the pictures so they all show up here.

And what a lovely family! You all are gorgeous (even the guys) -- and Susan, my dear, you are the tiniest thing!

Thanks for sharing!!

You all look good Susan! And what a gorgeous dress your daughter had! Yours, too, of course.

Hello Everyone,

Susan, pictures are wonderful, you look amazing.

Meg, I was checking out your pics on the success stories forum and OH MY GOODNESS GIRL, you look FABULOUS. I've seen some pictures of you, but not close-ups and wow, you are such an inspiration. I love all of your posts.

Pat, How is the snow situation up in Alaska? It's been raining for days here in NH. School has been closed for 2 days now...I'm hoping & praying we'll have school tomorrow before we all go stir crazy.

As some of you know, I'm pregnant - 15 weeks. Feeling better lately after some horrible weeks of morning (all day) sickness - flulike symptoms and constantly feeling like I'm going to vomit. Disgusting. I don't know if it's the rain or what, but I broke down today and made a nasty trigger food (won't mention it here for fear of triggering others) and ate half the batch. I have not done that since I've been pregnant, and didn't really do it much before either. But at least then I could cut back for a few weeks to get over it, now I really cannot "diet" and that makes it difficult. I've done well for me, only gained 7 pounds so far and feel pretty good. I live in fear of gaining 60 pounds again like I did with my son, because it took years for me to take the weight off with him. I've had strong cravings for sugar lately and today I just lost control. Anyway, I'm back here, not as a maintainer right now, but just to say hello and stay connected. The support is invaluable, pregnant or not.

Tomorrow is a new day. By the way, Meg, I really loved what you said about "finding a way" to get through your shoulder injury, despite any obstacles you were facing physically. I've been using that mantra (obviously, not today) but since I read your post I think of it often to remind myself to find a way to stay healthy, despite being pregnant with morning sickness and intense cravings. I can find a way to stay on track (not diet, but be healthy and limit weight gain to 25-35 pounds). I do not want anyone to think I'm trying to "diet" or be unhealthy during pregnancy, but I do want to avoid sugar and binges.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Susan, you are beautiful!

Anne, you said something that really struck me:

How could you not be a maintainer now? A weight is just a number, you are maintaining a lifestyle and a set of priorities about your health. Especially now at this exciting time! One regret I have about my pregnancy is that I spent probably as much time worrying about the weight I was gaining as I did thinking about the beautiful baby I was growing. Anyway, do the best you can, and forgive yourself a transgression now and then, especially when the morning sickness makes it hard to eat right. It sounds like you've learned a lot from your first pregnancy and in the years between and you're doing just fine.

Thanks gals! It was an awesome day and I'm so proud of all my kids! And I felt pretty good-lookin' too!

Both the Anne's ... look out! One minute they're tippling around in black patten maryjanes yackin' your ear off about bugs, flowers and cartoons and the next .... they look like that. The time goes soooo fast!

Susan -- LOVE your cheek bones, you look awesome... Nice to put a clearer pic to a name... Your family looks stunning too, you must be soo proud!

Anne -- Listen to those warnings from Susan, time flies WAYYYY too fast... In a way I am not looking forward to my sons's grad, it just means the end of an era and although the start of a wonderful adult student life it means that he's REALLY not my baby anymore... It's a very difficult transition...

Lessismore -- Hang in there, you are doing much better than what you think....

Hi everybody!

I am sort of new around here, though I posted on 3FC way back (starting in September 1999) when I was losing weight. As I posted on a separate thread, I am in a bit of a difficult spot right now with maintenance and I need people like all of you to talk to! I hope I can start getting into the conversation.

I spent some time looking at many of your pictures - WOW. What wonderful changes have been wrought here. Soon I will try to put together a profile for myself with some before and after shots.

Well, like I said in the other post, I lost 130 lbs in 1999-2001 and maintained 120 of them for several years. But now, due to life changes (living with my significant other), I have gotten lost, gotten off track, and gotten fat! I am about 17 pounds from my current goal of 135. Actually, I weighed 155.0 this morning (after a big Thai meal full of salty things), so I am going to make that my starting weight. This means I have (GULP) 20 pounds to lose! Got to get me one of those counter things. EDIT: found the counter! How cool.

Nothing to do but take a deep breath and get back to those old ways that worked so well the first time.

I am glad to be among all you successes!

My avatar is a picture of me eating cake at the weight of 150. I will replace it with a svelte "me" when I get back to the place I want to be!

Diamonda, this is the only place I've found that deals with the issues involved in maintenance. It's absolutely invauable. Have you read "Thin for Life" by Anne M Fletcher?

What do you think would happen inside my head if I decided that yesterday I slipped under 130 lbs for ever? I don't usually make that kind of sweeping statement (or commitment) but I feel very strong and encouraged this week. Thanks to all of the folks here at 3fc after I posted those pics
I feel that, even though I was a bit wired last week, I came through the wedding festivities well. I feel empowered by that accomplishment.

Oh and wndrAnne! I got a bike helmet.
