Alice, welcome! I'm sorry for the belated welcome, and glad to have a new presence on this thread. I am just more self-absorbed and oblivious than usual because of living inside the nearly home-bound bubble of convalescence.
I'm recovering from a tibial plateau fracture, which means the top of my shinbone just below my knee broke into pieces. A car hit me when I was crossing a street on the way to the gym. I was operated on a few hours later and had a rod, a plate and a lot of screws implanted inside my leg. Now I'm recuperating. I don't know yet what this will mean for my future activities, but everyone says this is a life-changing injury, so we'll see.
