I asked the DB who said "Legend of Zelda". He doesn't know if it's for PS3 but thought it might be worth looking into. I'm not sure how strong this info is but it's a name at least!.
Thanks! One of DH's band mates plays this and he loves it. Unfortunately it's not on a system that we can also use for Netflix, which is the real reason DH wants a system.
My weekend has not gone as planned. Emma had such a bad night Friday night and Saturday that I cancelled my plane ticket to my parent's house. BF and I decided she needs to go back to the vet first thing Monday, and that since he's working far from home these frequent outings are too much to ask friends to cover while I would have been out of town. I spent yesterday crying about my dog, my family, and generally being sad and sorry for myself. Good thing Emma was the only one around to see me pout.
I'm trying to focus on the positive. Losing a $200 change fee is not that bad, really, and I have a ticket credit to visit my parents in the next calendar year. It's only a month until Christmas when I can go see my nieces and the rest of my family. We will skype this week. Besides, I have BF, many friends, and BF's family is nearby to spend Thanksgiving with. And hopefully the vet will suggest something better tomorrow for Emma.
It sounds like everyone is busy getting ready for the holiday week! I'm now uncertain what food to prepare for the week and my several holidays here, but I did spend yesterday doing some much needed house cleaning and garden tending. I think I'll look online for some recipe inspiration. I know I'll be eating some heavy meals outside the house, so I was thinking some comforting, veggie-filled things would be good for here.
Dagmar, I don't know if your DH is set on ps3 but the wii works with netflix and makes you stand up to use it. It might only be swinging your arm around to "throw" a bowling ball etc, but at least it makes you're not sitting on your bum. There are plenty of wii games with multiple players that aren't just shooting and violent.
Allison, marshmallow bacon bark? Sounds interesting. Let us know how it turns out.
Saef, safe travels to your mom's. Enjoy your sweatpant lounging and some R & R tonight.
Michele, enjoy your time w DH! Glad he is home.
Jessica, how are the girls and DH doing? And you, too? Ooh, the mall would be a perfect indoor "track". I hadn't thought of that. Good suggestion Andrea. My older niece didn't have colic, but driving with white noise on the radio in the car helped her sleep.
Megan1982: bummer about the change in plans. I always find that so hard to deal with. You're doing all the right things, though, figuring out a Plan B that will work well for you.
We had a good dinner out last night. Same people and place as the dinner a couple of weeks that started a downward spiral for me. So, I'm doing all the things today that will keep my routines in place. I think it helps that I'm not hungover today! So, limiting the wine was a very good idea.
Megan~I'm so sorry about Emma. I hope the vet is able to figure out what is wrong. Sorry you had to change your plans, too.
The Whiskey, Caramel, Marshmallow and Bacon Bark is interesting. I made the bacon last night and ended up throwing much of it away--that which is still okay I'll keep for a salad topping. The recipe calls for the cooked bacon to be coated in sugar water and then egg white to be beaten and pepper and cayenne added to that and then stir in the bacon and bake at a low temperature for 30 minutes. Maybe my egg was too big, but the eggy bacon was just gross! I pulled off the excess egg and this morning I cooked the bacon my way (chop it up, cook, draining the grease often, then spreading the cooked bacon on a baking sheet and sprinkling with sugar, pepper and cayenne and then baking it. Much much better.). Then the marshmallow stuff didn't look like it'd set after adding the whiskey, so it's in the freezer in hopes that it will firm up. It'll have to be stored in the fridge, that much is true.
