Default Maintaining for 1 year!

Today marks 1 year since I hit my goal weight! I weighed in today 2.5 pounds less then when I hit goal, so I guess that means I've been pretty successful.

I have huge ups and huge downs - more mentally then physically.

I feel like being able to maintain 1 year now opens some new doors for me, and I hope to be as successful in the future as it appears I've been over this last year, without such internal turmoil and drama!

That is an amazing accomplishment and I'm so impressed with what you've done! I have never been able to keep my weight off for any extended period of time so I get how challenging it is! Major congrats to you!

First goal: under 180:
Second goal: 175 or below:
Third goal: 168 (no longer overweight):
Fourth goal: 160 or below:
Final goal: 145-155 (not sure if this will ever happen):

Jen, honestly, I thought it was longer. To me, this is a thing you're experienced at doing.

I think we're always going to have some noise in our head about eating and exercise, or at least more than the average person, but that it needn't be tumultuous.

My own struggle goes something like this: 1) I seem to maintain better when I follow a routine and schedule, but 2) Life isn't really like that, and 3) Guarding the routine leads to me becoming too obsessive-compulsive for comfort, and I find I'm guarding the routine rather than my weight -- the two get blurred in my head sometimes. Also 4) I start feeling imprisoned by the routine, and then get rebellious or low-spirited and unimaginative, like a form of mental agoraphobia. That is really my battle, with my weight almost being a side effect.

Would u share some of the things that worked/did not work for you? Was it harder to lose or maintain the weight?
