New Year New Challenge, What Is Yours ?

  • This will replace the Holiday Challenge.

    My challenge is to lose at least 13 pounds that I put on when I fell victim to the Cookie Monster.
    I also have an upsetting family situation that has driven me straight to the refrigerator. That stops today !
  • Although I don't fall victim to the cookie monster, that sack of chocolate candy at the office often calls my name.

    My challenge will be to ignore that until AFTER I've lost the 20 or so pounds that I've accumulated.

    I'm starting Nutrisystem tomorrow and hope to be at goal by my 49th birthday.
  • My personal New Year's challenge is to reduce and finally eliminate caffeine from my diet. My coaching challenge is to help keep DH on his diet without nagging.

    And I'm getting the feeling I'm going to have to weather my dad's death. He's declining quite rapidly and getting more frail each week.

    I think those 3 things will keep me busy.

  • Mine is to exercise year-round, not just when the weather's nice. I like to exercise outdoors, and I don't like being cold. I also have my kids with me during the day, and it is much easier to exercise during the day than before or after dh is at work. But in December I started doing yoga and doing it before bed seems to be working well, so I want to stick with that until the weather warms and I can be outside again.

    I also want to get back down to the lower end of my maintenance range (anywhere within a healthy weight BMI). I was there at the end of my weight loss, but it slowly crept up and I wasn't sure if that was because I didn't have what it took to maintain so low and if that was really where I wanted to be. I've decided I really did like being there much better and am willing to do what it takes to stay there, thus I must do what it takes to get back there. We're talking twenty pounds, but I'm really looking forward to having them gone.

    So that is my focus for the new year. Thanks much to everyone for all the inspiration and education I've found on these boards, especially this forum.

    Exercise 3-4x a week.

    I've been good with the exercise terrible with eating/bingeing...
    I graduate in May with my masters n wanna look hot )
  • I think mine will be balance.
    I find it very tricky balancing my food, exercise, work, and family without driving myself and everyone around me crazy in the process.
    I play such mind games with myself depending on my weight, whether or not I've exercised, etc.
    Balance in 2012!!
  • My (3FC) goal is simple: to end 2012 below my redline weight, just like I started it. That is, another year of successful maintaining.
  • I will gain strength and flexibility this year by moving more. I will improve my mind/stomach relationship. I will weigh in on Mondays. And I will work daily to put my Perfectionist mentality in the "tried that - doesn't work" trash can.
  • 2012 - ditch the excuses and get back on track.
    Back on track = eat clean + consistent exercise.
    ....oh and post.

  • I'm striving to get back below my redline weight and beyond!

    I would love to decrease my binges and to also minimize my perfectionistic mentality.

    Continue working out as I've been doing and continue counting those calories.

    Give up coffee? I'm not ready to do that this year. Maybe in 2013?
  • Did good on calories yesterday, did pretty good on vegies. I need to eat more vegies and drink more water.

  • I want to eat even healthier and maintain my weight (and find my maintenance calorie range! Still haven't found it!).

    Before the holidays I was adding more fruits and veggies to my diet and I really liked how I felt. I want to do that even more now
  • So far, so good. Less thinking and more doing.
  • Fit exercise into my schedule.
    Stop being lazy and too ashamed to resume strength training because of lost strength.
    NO SMOKING.
    Be more responsible with my money.
    Learn how to do basic maintenance on my car so I don't need to depend on other people.
